name. Student teaching brought on a new challenge as middle schoolers struggled
to remember the four letters of “Miko” and settled for “Ms. M.” Other notable
challenges include nosy students searching for Miko on social media which
resulted in changing her Facebook name from “Valerie Anne Miko” to just
“Valerie Anne.” The struggle continued as John Miko reached out, worried that
there was a more morose reason for removing the last name. Miko had to reassure
her father that she was not estranging herself from the family but simply
