will be closed...
Snow much fun! This school year we didn’t Triniti Ware (12)
get many snow days, but we made the most of
the ones we did. Conveniently, our days off
came in the days following Charity Ball, but
luckily the storm held off so that we could
celebrate Charity Ball safely. Since so many
people were already together from Charity Ball
festivities, the snow days extended the time we
got to spend with our friends and gave some
relaxation at the end of the whirlwind of CB
season. Sophomore Anna Joyce says “It was
such a relief having snow days after Charity
Ball! We got the chance to rest!” Even though
we haven’t had many snow days, we’ve had
several makeup day because of the added
hurricanes. The makeup days are definitely
worth it because we get a fun break with
friends!

Kenna Rodgers (11) Hurricane Floooo. This year North Carolina made national news
multiple times because of the hurricanes that slammed our coasts. We
got two withing the span of a month: Hurricane Florence and
Hurricane Matthew. The expected power outages and closed roads
warranted several days off, but the actual damage in Raleigh did not
live up to the hype. Others enjoyed the snow, building snowmen or
degrees*
sledding with friends, this year it was particularly powdery and perfect
for such activities. While many students reaped the benefits, massive *lowest temperature of
losses in the North Carolina area were inevitable. Below, Enloe students
trade their time to help out their community that suffered the most. winter 2018-2019

After The Storms:

Junior Rebekah Olsen and her
younger sister, freshman Kate Olson
volunteered with their church, the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, to muck the houses near the NC
coast. Together, the two went to work
twice in Wallace, NC, to mark walls for
demolition, rip out dry wall, shovel dirt,
move moldy furniture, and load ruined
floorboards and drywall onto trailers.

to put on a 1,000 person community
lunch down the middle of Fayetville
Street hosted by the Sunday Supper (a
local non-profit). The events raised
$450,000 for hurricane recovery in
Eastern NC.
