Dear Judges,

Good morning, my name is Mi Meh. I’m a senior here at Garinger High School. My topic is
about how college should be free for eligible students. Many people in today’s society can relate
to the situations, especially immigrants students.

First of all, I would like to give my gratitude to you for taking time out of your day and coming
out to Garinger. I appreciate your time and I will make sure to not waste your time.

My thesis is In-State college should be free for eligible students because It would give students
more freedom to choose classes they enjoy, Stimulate our economy by creating a better-educated
workforce, and Help reduce the national poverty rate. I gained a lot of information about why
some students didn’t attend college and why some student dropped out.

The idea of my Service Learning Experience is to teach my community middle schoolers about
college, scholarships, and FAFSA. I show them what kind of college is in NC. I came up with
this idea because my communities are lack of help. When they start high school, they can know
what to do to get scholarships and get into a good college.

From my research paper, I learned more about other people who can relates to the situation as I
am. From my Service learning Experiences I created impact on my community because not only
they get to learn about college but they also get to make new friends.
