To whom it may concern,

I am writing you today in support of a student of mine, Mr. Victor Mendez. I have known
Victor for 3 years now and I find him to be a well-behaved and sociable young man. Victor
is also currently a student in my Engineering Design and Development class.

When Victor came to CHS as a freshman, he had very limited English skills. Still, he
managed through decoding techniques to work his way to a “B” in my class and in time he
was able to improve his English to such a point where he now only takes all General Ed.
classes without language exceptions.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Victor offers his time as a tutor at the Gardena Adult School.
Additionally, he is determined to get the highest grades possible in all his courses,
especially his Math classes.

Victor is very respectful, shows consideration and expresses gratitude when he is helped
or given opportunities to excel.

Becoming an Aerospace Engineer has always been a dream of Victor’s and he also wants
to become successful enough to be able to take care of his family. Traveling the world is
another dream of Victor’s as is his incredible interest in equestrian matters.

And so, I would ask you to seriously consider the potential of young Mr. Mendez and join
with me in working to prepare him for his future and his promising potential.

Please feel free to contact me directly should you need any clarifications.

Respectfully,

Thomas Weinmann, Ed.D.
