Executive Summary

On 2nd May 2019 we got an appointment to meet Marketing Manager of MTM and to visit some
departments, also to know about the work to be done in those departments.
On the day, we visit key departments like Cutting, Stitching, PPC, Merchandising, Quality
Assurance, stores of the largest knitted garments manufactures of Pakistan which are delivered
by experienced managers running these departments. The main reason behind visiting these
departments to acquire practical knowledge.
All the departments of MTM start their activities when the merchandising department receives
the purchase order (PO) from the customer. This (PO) is sent to the PPC department for further
processing. After the PO confirmation, the stitching department gets cutting from induction
department and starts production. Other departments also work along the production unts.
We also observed MTM is fully modernized and equipped with latest cutting, stitching and
packing machines. Complete back track system and Apparel Management System are unique
characters of MTM. It is fully equipped with quality control laboratory which frequently checks
the quality of fabrics. Quality assurance checks the quality of finished products. It also make sure
100% error free products.
Human Resource Management in MTM is very strong. There are four main functions of HR
department, which are Recruitment, selection, compensation and benefits, training and
development and performance appraisal.

and provide all the necessary information for this project. They let us to complete our project on

(1.2) History of MTM

Masood Textile Mills (MTM) is a vertically-integrated textile manufacturing company based out
of Faisalabad Pakistan with in-house yarn, knitting, fabric dyeing, processing, laundry and
apparel manufacturing facilities. MTM is publicly listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. It is
currently the largest knit-wear manufacturer and exporter in Pakistan.MTM is famous for
employee friendly culture.
Masood Textile Mills Limited creates, develops, manufactures, sells, and exports knitted apparel
products in Pakistan and internationally. The company operates through three
segments: Spinning, Knitting, and Processing and Garments. Masood Textile Mills Limited is
based in Faisalabad, Pakistan.

(3.1) What are your actual/main products that you are dealing in?
 We are dealing in knit-wear, t-shirts, hoodies, sweat shirts, polo, joggers and trousers etc.
(3.2) What category are your products in?
 We have three types of products depends on the needs of the customers.
i. Luxury Goods
In this type we have PME Legend.
ii. FMCG
In this type we have some products which are not for local sale.
iii. Shopping Goods
In this type we have highly exported products.
(3.3) What about your pricing strategies?
 Our pricing strategies varies from products to products and it depends on the article also
its specifications, e.g. Lewis.
 We satisfy our customers with approachable prices.
(3.4) What are your promotion Channels?
 Our style of advertisement is bit different and unique to others like we promote our
products through:
i. Target Marketing
For example, in Spain, USA and Europe we have our offices and target
customers.
ii. Appointments and Approvals
We also have a unique style of promotion through appointments and approvals.
iii. Events
We arrange different events in Pakistan like expo and stalls for the promotion of
our products specially in Lahore Johar Town.
Samples are carried through the stalls and then selected.
Also we deal in bulks.

 We cover all type of ages e.g. youngsters, old ages, middle ages etc.
(3.7) What you can say about your competitors?
 We have a strong competition like our competitors are Interoop, Style Textiles Lahore,
Klash.
As the competition is going towards the sky day by day, we provide uniqueness and
quality in our products to differentiate it with other competitors.
(3.8) How do you satisfy your customers?
 Customer satisfaction plays a vital role, we satisfy our customers through
i. All time delivery
ii. Quality like sampling and production
iii. New Techniques
iv. Fair Prices
(3.9) What about your product life cycle? At what stage your product lies?
 Our product is on Maturity stage and also we can say that on Growth stage as well.
When we were on growth stage we worked really hard to achieve and build a stable
position in the market by applying different strategies to fulfils the needs and wants of
our customers.
Now we are on Maturity and in a stable position to compete with our competitors.

 We mainly focus on two aspects while production i-e

(3.11) What you can furfure say about your company?
 MTM is a multinational and one of the biggest exports company.
We are having our offices in China and USA.
We focus on customer’s demand and satisfaction.
Our main goal is to be a leading brand in the market.
