Junior Engineer - PET00008

Primary Location - Canada-Ontario-Peterborough

Our Peterborough office is looking to fill a Junior Engineer position in our growing Canadian Operations within the
Geotechnical and Materials Engineering Group.

The Peterborough Office of GHD works with local governments, contractors, Federal agencies, and private industries on
small to large scale projects across the whole spectrum of transportation, infrastructure, institutional and industrial facility
projects. Our team provides integrated geotechnical, construction materials and environmental engineering services in
support of designers, owners and constructors.

Candidates will have the following experience:

• Performing field sampling and testing of aggregate, concrete and asphalt materials
• Competent experience and understanding of nuclear densometer based compaction testing
• Performing stability assessments (proof roll) of road and pavement subgrade layers
• Performing visual examination and review of reinforcing steel installation for structural elements of buildings, bridges,
foundations, etc.
• Laboratory testing of soils, aggregate and concrete materials
• Experience with carrying out or assisting with geotechnical investigations and founding soil condition inspections
• Assisting senior engineering staff with carryout of project related work

• Post-secondary education in relevant Geotechnical of Civil Engineering program

• CCIL Field and / or Laboratory Certifications an asset
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
• Team player, cooperate with other staff
• Ability to meet challenging deadlines
• G Driver’s license and reliable automobile
