Changes to Save Our Future

You're eating a delicious bunch of grapes you pulled out of a plastic bag in a park,

you see a trash can and walk towards it to throw your bag away, but then you remembered

what your science teacher said it's better for the environment to recycle things so you turn

around and throw your trash away in the recycling bin, knowing little that it makes no

difference. In fact, no matter what trash you bring it still hurts the environment. That's why

we should go trash-free. What does that mean? Going trash-free means bringing more

longer lasting things you can wash and use again. Let us continue on to find out why.

As I said, it doesn't matter if you recycle your plastic or not. Most of the plastic ends

up in the ocean anyways. In fact, more than 7 million tons end up in the ocean (“Should You

Go Trash-Free at Lunch?”) Mammals tend to either eat and die or suffocate from these bits

of trash. This harms the environment and the animals within it more than eating from a

bento box will harm you.
