Project Proposal

Project Description
My Senior Exhibition topic focuses on Hispanics in higher education. My project will consist of having a
booth at my school’s college and career fair. There, I will be giving out goody bags packed with
scholarship information and other resources useful to student, I will also be making brochures of places
available to students as resources for financial aid, and be conducting a survey in Senior English classes. I
have always had an interest in helping people and helping them solve problems they come across, and
now I can educate people on resources available to them and how students can use these resources to not
only get to college, but further their education even more. My project will be located at Nogales High
School in Nogales, Arizona. I will start in September 2017 and finish in the early spring of 2018. My
project will result in raising awareness about the causes in the decrease of Hispanics attaining a colleges,
scholarships, and places available for students to use. My paper and project are connected by discussing
what the causes are for a decrease in Hispanics attaining a college degree and how we can improve those
statistics. My project will bring it to student’s attention about not only what they have available to them,
but how to use the resources. Ms. Fragoso, a counselor at Nogales High School will be my mentor. For
my community service hours, I will be assisting the Lions Club with the Christmas Clothing Project.
