The element I will be talking about is

Physical Properties
-Cadmium is a soft, malleable, ductile;
bluish white metal. It is also very easy to
cut with a knife. Similar too many respects
of Zinc in its chemical properties, cadmium
tarnishes in air and is soluble in acids but
not in alkalis. The metal burns in the air and
forms brown cadmium oxide.

Boiling Point- 1413 Degrees F
Melting Point- 609.93 Degrees F
Freezing Point- 609.926 Degrees F
Who Discovered it? It was
discovered by Chemist Friedrich
Stromeyer.
When? In 1817 as an impurity of
zinc oxide.
How? Made the discovery after a
request from the government to
inspect the pharmacies in the town
of Hidesheim, Germany.
Uses of Element-
The uses of this element
include the majority use of
rechargeable NiCad
batteries.
Interesting facts-
Cadmium telluride is used
to make thin film solar cells
which can absorb more than
90% of visible light.
- Stromeyer suggested the
name of cadmium after
cadmia the latin name for
calamine, calamine is an old
name for zinc ore.
- Some chemist don’t
regard cadmium as a
transition metal because of
its full shell of electrons.
