A.2. INTRODUCTION
SEE Electrical Expert is a software that allows you to draw circuit diagrams (power, control and
distribution), and also pneumatic, hydraulic, instrumentation and grafcet diagrams.
This tutorial aims, through an exercise, to show you the basics of the software.
For this, the installation of the software was performed in Standard mode.
Attention:
1- The printer must be turned on and connected to the computer (its drivers installed), before
launching the software.
2- The dongle must be present on the parallel or usb port on the computer.
This first part will allow you to discover the basic functions of the software.
▪ Click Start ➤ All Programs ➤ IGE+XAO ➤ See Electrical Expert to launch the
software
▪ Click the icon to open the Projects Explorer.
The Project Explorer is displayed:
▪ Right-click on "Projects".
Note:
By means of two separate commands you have the possibility to create two kinds of projects,
based on different templates. These different templates, predefine the insertion mode and
management of connections or of wires.
The New Project dialogue is displayed. It allows you to specify the project name and
location as well as to select a project template.
▪ Enter the name of the project in the "Name" entry field (Example: TUTORIAL).
▪ In the “Location” field the default path to the Projects folder in which the new project is
going to be created is proposed.
Or
▪ Click the button inside the “Location” field.
The Browse for location dialogue is displayed.
▪ Browse and specify another location for your project.
Note:
The button is not available if the command is executed from the pop- up menu or the
corresponding icon and the default folder Projects is not modifiable.
▪ Click the tab corresponding to the environment you wish to associate the new project,
for example Elec_IEC.
▪ Click the icon to associate a template with the new project.
At the end of the project creation a message informs you about the successful
implementation of the process.
The full project path and name are displayed at the bottom of the window. The entire
project is constituted by only one file - "Project_Name.seeprj", “TUTORIAL.seeprj” in our
example.
Note:
A project is a file on the hard disk of your computer in which the different sheets of your project
will be stored.
The project template "IEC Tagging" allows you to create and manipulate the projects according
the IEC standard (example of IEC tagging: KM1).
Note:
Tips:
You can, in the right window, enter the information related to the project: the title and the project
number, customer name etc.
These will appear in the title block.
▪ Click OK.
The result is:
Note:
If the window does not occupy the entire screen, execute the following procedure:
Tips:
1 - The number and the name of the sheet are displayed at the top of the window.
2 - At the bottom of the screen, the status bar displays general information: the full path to the
current project, the active function, the instructions given by the software and the coordinates of
the cursor.
Before inserting the connections in your sheet, please consult the grid settings:
