“ The Ice Cream Man”
FADE IN
EXT. Location #1 - EVENING

THE ICE CREAM MAN is walking up and down the streets of Detroit Michigan,
looking into the cold windows. With the urge to go crazy.

ICE CREAM MAN

(Talking to audience/himself)
I know I can't be the only one who feels the way I feel. While I walk
these streets each night, this feeling inside me starts to flare up. And
that's when I know, I need every person out of my sight or no good
will come of it.

(Clench Ice cream man's fists as he thinks about his words)

Bethany pulls up in a black car, next to The ice cream man, on the street.

BETHANY
Hello sir, did you need any directions or some cash for a motel?

Ice cream man thinks for a moment. And makes a slight smirk towards Bethany.

ICE CREAM MAN

Um, yes please actually. Do you think you could take me to the
Motel 6 a couple blocks down?

Without hesitation, Bethany unlocks her car doors.

They are in the car, with a country music station playing on the radio, and The
Ice
Cream Man has one hand closer to the middle seat.

ICE CREAM MAN

 Have you heard about the murders going on around these parts?
Man that stuff really chills my bones.

Bethany starts to slightly bite her lip and puts both hands on the wheel.

BETHANY
Yea, uh I did hear about that. I don't know how one person can feel
such horror in their own minds to do such horrible things.

The Ice Cream Man Leans over to Bethany and he grabs her hand that is on the
wheel very softly.

ICE CREAM MAN

Well let me show you, Bethany. Pull the car over and turn off the
lights. Or we can do this the hard way.

Bethany does as told and The Ice Cream Man takes her hands, and ties them
together with a rope.

BETHANY
Please, I beg you. This does not need to happen. I swear I won't tell
anyone. I haven't seen your face in the dark!

With A smirk on his face, the Ice Cream Man wraps his hands around her throat,
and laughs a nasty laugh as she gasps for air.

ICE CREAM MAN (Yelling this whole line)

That's what they all say honey! But once I lay my hands down, it takes
more than just a promise to make me stop!

Bethany is let go by the throat, and she cries and cries.

ICE CREAM MAN

Don't cry little one, it will all be over in just a second. But don't forget
the breath
Ice Cream Man winks

Just as Bethany gets some air, the Ice Cream Man takes out a screwdriver from
his pocket. He put his hand over her mouth as she wiggles and cries to make it
stop.

The screen goes black.

The next shot begins, as the Ice Cream Man proceeds.

ICE CREAM MAN

You awake yet? Because I am ready to get this over with.

Bethany is trying to regain focus as she crawls back to life

BETHANY
Don't do this to me. I have kids at home who don't have a dad. They
need me just like you needed your parents, but they weren't around
were they?

The Ice Cream Man's eyes widen in shock

ICE CREAM MAN

How did you know that! Never speak of my family again! I hope you
like Ice Cream, because that’s what’s on the menu.

He pulls out a container of what looks like ice cream, until Bethany spots what's
really in in.

BETHANY
Are those human parts!? I will not eat it.

ICE CREAM MAN

That is why they call me the Ice Cream Man my dear. Open up.
 BETHANY
WAIT!!! I know about your past, because I was your sister

ICE CREAM MAN

I don’t have a sister. Your lying. I was always alone… so very alone,
except for my ice cream. I was always fed ice cream.

BETHANY
I have proof, but you have to let me go.

ICE CREAM MAN

Show me, and I swear if you are lying it's over!

Bethany pulled a small crinkled up picture out of her pocket and with
a tears streaming down her face, she handed it to him as if she felt safe.

BETHANY
I promise you, brother. I sent you ice cream so you'd feel safe, I
wanted you to be happy always. I know we didn't have the best parents but
I wanted you to feel as if I was with you.

The ice cream man stood looking at the picture with teary eyes and
a red nose.

ICE CREAM MAN

I… I am dearly sorry. I don't know what to say. Sister, I love you.
Please don't ever leave me! I need your help and I can't be alone anymore.

Bethany gives a slight smirk towards her brother.

BETHANY
Oh Nick, you were never alone, I love you too.
