California Career Zone Reflection

In 12th grade, I completed the California Career Zone Reflection. The California Career

Zone is a website that is an analytical, creative and interesting way to have an insight in

possible future career designated based on your own personal answers. My interest results

included a radio/television announcer, choreographer and a music director. These interest areas

show that I am well interested in the performing arts community and that I want to be apart of .

My results show that I am suitable for a career in teaching for kindergartners, a public

relations specialist and a radio/television announcer. The first career I chose is a radio/television

announcer. The educational requirements for this career are radio/television announcers

typically need a bachelor's degree in journalism, broadcasting, or communications, along with

an internship or work experience from their college radio or television station. Radio/television

announcers typically need a high school diploma, along with short-term on-the-job training. The

salary range for this career is $55,000 to $75,000 a year. The second career I chose is to be a

kindergarten teacher. The educational requirements for this career are to have at least a

bachelor's degree in education and teacher certification for the state in which they work. The

salary range for this career is $55,480 a year.

I chose these two careers because I’ve always had a passion for the entertainment

industry and even if it’s not an acting gig or if I’m not on broadway, it’s still a job where my name

is out there as a radio or television announcer. As for a kindergarten teacher, i love working with

kids and I honestly thought I’d be working with older kids, but I also wouldn’t mind teaching the

little ones. No matter which career I pursue I know I’ll love both and it’ll satisfy me everyday.

Even if they may not be the highest paying career I have, I know I’ll be able to wake up

everyday and enjoy what I do for a living.
