Gypsum Board Installation Tips
For Partition

ca 1. The length of screw for fixing Gypsum Board to metal stud is equal to
the thickness of Gypsum Board plus 10 mm.
0 2. The thickness of the metal stud should be 5.5 mm.
3. The vertical metal stud should be set in the same direction.
4. If there is ajoint, the strength at the joint is lower.
5. If the width of the partition is above 15 m.,at every 15 m. interval an expansion joint
must be used in order to prevent cracking.

S 6. Always leave about 10 mm. space from the floor to prevent dampness.
7. In high humidity area,especially in the kitchen or bathroom, U-line stud which is laid

::s on the floor should be wrapped with plastic sheet before installation. The Moisbloc
is the most suitable for this purpose.

For Ceiling
1. If the length of the concealed ceiling is above 15 m.,at every 15 m. interval a 10 mm.

2. For the room requiring both Gypsum Board partition and ceiling, install the ceiling
@J before the partition. If the sound insulation is needed, install the partition before
the ceiling.

4. To checkthe level of installed ceiling, place 2 m.straight bar on checking point, the gap

~ between the ceiling surface and the end of the straight bar should not exceed 5mm.
