40 Book Challenge

Details
1. Your goal is to read 40 books (or more!) from various genres by the end of the year.

2. We will use all of our free time in class to read, and we will have SSR time every day.

3. In your Readers’ Binder, you will tally the books completed. I will initial each genre after you have read all
the books required.

4. You will record books, both abandoned and read, with all needed information.

5. You will respond regularly in your Readers’ Notebook.

6. Once you finish a book, you will create a book review or do a booktalk for the class.

7. Throughout the week, you and I will talk about your reading during conferences.

8. You must have a book with you at all times.

9. A book over 300 pages= 2 books

Once you have completely finished a book, mark a tally under the correct genre. When a genre has been
completed, I will sign off on that genre.
