ABSTRACT

With the development of science and technology, has found a way the liquid
waste processing, i.e. with the method of extraction liquid-liquid or Liquid-liquid
Extraction (LLE). Advantages of this method, among others, used organic
solvents can be recycled, so that it can continue to be used, the acid-carboxylic
acid ekstraksinya results can be separated from one another with acid and has a
high purity. So that it can clean up the environment from a variety of acid-
leaching of organic acids that dissolve in the liquid waste.
For the Determination of the concentration of acetic acid (CH 3COOH),
pipetting 20 mL of CH3COOH to make CH3COOH into measuring flask
100 mL. Then thins with aquadest. Pipetting 20 mL solution of CH3COOH the
acid into an erlenmeyer flask, then add a few drops of indicator PP
(phenolphtalein). Then titration with 1 N NaOH until the solution is discolored in
the erlenmeyer flask turn pink. Finally, calculate the volume of NaOH titran. For a
one time extraction, Entering 20 mL of CH3COOH into a separating funnel and
add organic solvents (CHCl3) 20 mL, then whisk the solution is for 10, 15, and 25
minutes and silence for 10 minutes until it is formed of two phases. Calculate the
volume of the lower phase (rafinat) and phase (extract). Memipet each 10 mL
rafinat and extract into an erlenmeyer flask, add a few drops of indicator PP
(phenolphtalein). Menitar with 1 N NaOH until the solution is discolored in the
erlenmeyer flask turn pink. Finally, calculate the volume of NaOH titran.
Based on the results of the practical work that has been done can be
concluded that, the concentration of acetic acid in organic solvents at the time
shuffling 15, 20, and 25 minutes 0.605 row M, 0.528 M 0.583, and m. While the
concentration of acetic acid in water at the time shuffling 15, 20, and 25 minute
row 2.214 M, 2.7346 M, and 2, 4105M. As for the value of the distribution
coefficient (KD), which obtained at the time shuffling 15, 20, and 25 minutes in a
row of 0.273, 0.193, and 0.241.
