Team Leader on the ROHM KAIZEN/ IMPROVEMENT Activities of ROHM Mother Factory,
tackling the “Shoteiko Hazure Elimination”. Achieving of 97% Abnormality Reduction
since its completion leading to a ROHM Presidents Silver Award.
SHOTEIKO HAZURE ELIMINATION
Since 2005, Shoteiko Hazure abnormality became the top most
contributor of scrap and material loss for MCR Production. This abnormality is
being encountered at Printing 1 process in which after the R printing process
some lots failed to achieve its required center resistance value or Shifted Initial
RV (shoteiko hazure in Japanese terms), thus resulting to scrapping of lots and
losses incurred due to lot reproduction. Although there is already existing system
to control its yield, the system proved to be inadequate and ineffective.
Investigations and evaluations were conducted to identify problem points from
its various processing points; and corresponding improvements were conducted:
1. Improvement of RV piloting method and R paste bottle history data
assurance,
2. Paste preparation sigma reduction,
3. Implementation of Automatic Paste Selection Program that eliminates
human manual selection of R paste per target RVs,
4. Continuous education and elimination of processing rule non-compliance,
5. And environment improvements like inside machine temperature control.
As a result within 8 months of continuous activities, the occurrence drastically
reduced, from the average of 121lots/month down to 3.5lots/month, resulting to
an average savings of 5.96 million yen per month since its completion.

ROHM PRESIDENT SPECIAL AWARD (F.Y. 2016)
Achievement of 35% lead time improvement for MCR10 package,
through various improvement at production lines focusing on eliminating MUDA

Rohm-Factory Project Presentation on January 2016 and 2nd place for REPI
Presidents Award on October 2016.
Main author and contributor for 27th ASEMEP National Technical Symposium Paper
Entitled “Operator Workload Reduction at Material Preparation through Material
Location Wireless Control System” (F.Y. 2017)
The paper presented a major improvement on materials control for MCR
Division that significantly improved the operator’s workload through reduction of
working time. The project provided a more systematic material control through
the application of address system and wireless communication technology.
Overall the project increased the level of Quality by eliminating mistakes on
material preparation which also have direct effect to reduce cost/ losses for
defects. The material stock also decreased to reach the optimum stock level in
which savings were also achieved.
