1. In the first day teaching in the


second grade, Mr. Cohen makes his
students familiar with his Tourrette,
he proposes them to ask him about
it, you can read some of the
questions:

Mr. Cohen: Ok. Anything you wanna know about it, I want you to ask.
Student : Does it hurt?
Mr. Cohen: Well, sometimes, like when my neck jerks. But the noises do not hurt
at all. These are great questions, keep 'em coming.
Student: Are they ever gonna make you well, Mr. Cohen?
Mr. Cohen: Well. Right now there's no medicine that can cure Tourette's. But,
it's okay. Cuz I've learned to accept it and I don't let it run my life.

Tourette Syndrome (TS) is a neurodevelopmental


disorder that becomes evident in early childhood or
adolescence. It is part of the spectrum of Tic Disorders
and is characterized by motor and vocal tics.
Some Tic Disorders may be transient, while others will
persist into adolescence and adulthood. It is common for
people with Tourette Syndrome to be affected by
another co-occurring condition.

After reading the text about tourette syndrome and based on the movie,
discuss how do you think the life of a teacher with tourette syndrome is?
Do you think they have the same opportunities? why?

4) Share ideas. Read and answer the next questions. Talk about them with your
partners.

After watching the film, what do you think about the THE INTERVIEW?
What if you were interviewing Brad? What questions would you ask him?

groups of three:
Ask one person to be the principal who hired Brad, other to be the Assistant
Principal, and the other to be Brad. Put yourself in their shoes and act the
interview. The speaking activity has to be presented in front of the class.
