Pair or Group Improv Scenarios: 1 minute and 30 seconds each.

You have 3 minutes to discuss

what you’d like to do for the scene with your partner. Incorporate the line into your scene—add
to it, if you’d like to, too! Conflict, characters, scene energy/direction. Get creative and take it in
any direction you’d like it to go. Create a title, present the prompt with your partner, and
action!

Line: Everyone else’s parents let their kids do it!

Scenario: Two friends who had a falling out face each other for the first time in a year. (If
another person(s): either friend can have an entourage that reacts and adds to the scene—beginning,
middle, end?)

Line: Hey, we’re going to be late if you don’t hurry up!

Scenario: A supermarket cashier notices another cashier stealing money from the register.

Line: Oh! It is such an honor to meet you! Could I get your autograph for my daughter?
Scenario: Two Students are waiting outside the principal’s office because they have been in a
fight.

Line: All you have to do is step-kick-step-kick-step-kick. Now try it with me.

Scenario: A singer and his piano accompanist are discussing and practicing the possibility of
including some new songs in their act. This pianist didn’t bring their keyboard.
Line: Just rip the paper off! I can’t wait for you to see this totally unique gift!
Scenario: A friend is bringing news of a dead pet to their friend. (If another person(s): either friend can
have an entourage that reacts and adds to the scene)

Line: Stop right there. You are not leaving this house dressed like that!
Scenario: A teenager who has been grounded is attempting to sneak out of the house. Just as
he is about to leave his parent(s) walks in the room.

Line: Did you honestly think that a trail of breadcrumbs would help us find our way out of the
forest and back to our house?
Scenario: Kind-of friends get lost on a hike. Someone eventually shows up and tries to “help
them.”

Line: They probably forgot we were here.

Scenario: Friends are partying and one of them faints. Mixed collection of reactions. They must
decide what to do with the person.

Line: Ew! What are you doing?

Scenario: A few archaeologists (and maybe one clueless intern!) have absolutely no clue what
the artifact they found is and try to figure it out.
