ACT ONE
Fade in:
INT. Mateo’s room - Day
Red flashing lights flood the colony with a loud siren. People
scream and run past Mateo’s room.

MATEO
(Jumping out of bed)

JULIA
(Running through door trying to catch breath)
We need to go!
(Grab mateo’s arm)
Now!

Colony hallways

MATEO
(Running behind Julia)
Did the fire reach us?!

JULIA
(Focused on the end of the hall and running)
The alarms don't make it obvious enough?!

EXT. Colony deck

OFFICER GRAHAM
(Directing crowd)
Ten people to a lifeboat!
(Digging in box)
Everyone needs a fireproof suit!

DANNY
(Falls into Mateo)
Dude what happened?

MATEO
(looking into the sea)
Looks like the fire finally caught up to us.

DANNY

(Follows Mateo’s gaze)

We have to go. Hurry, get sutes.

END OF ACT ONE

ACT TWO

Ext. Ocean - Day

JULIA
(On knees reaching into the water)
Mateo please take my hand! I’ll pull you up and get you on a
boat.

MATEO
(Treading water)
Mom.
(Gasp for air)
Everyone is going to burn on those boats. The oxygen tanks blew
up and the whole colony is in a panic.

JULIA
(Crying)
Please just take my hand.
(Hold out hand)

MATEO
I can't stay here. You cant either. All of you are going to die
if you do.

DANNY
(Rapidly tap Mateo’s shoulder)
Dude we gotta go, the flames are getting closer.And I cant keep
myself up much longer.

MATEO
(Take a long look at Julia)
Im sorry.
(Swim away)

JULIA
(Hard Crying)

ACT THREE

Fade in:
EXT. Ocean - Day

Huge explosion behind Mateo and Danny. Debris falling all around
the in the water.

DANNY
(Panting)
(Swimming)
Do you think we’ll make it there?

MATEO
(Eyes on the water)
We have to.

DANNY
(squint at Mateo)
Yeah man, but what if we don't? This isn't how we’re supposed to
die.

MATEO
(Splash Danny)
Come on! The hideout is just over here. If you keep acting like
this the flames will take us over because all your babbling is
slowing us down. Lets go.

DANNY
(Tread water)
Should've died with the rest of ‘em.

MATEO
(Snap head towards Danny)
Really?! You wanna die in a fire just like everyone else. We’re
making it there, but the flames are getting closer and we’re
getting tired.
(Swim forward)
So keep up.

END OF ACT THREE

ACT FOUR

Fade In:
EXT. Abandoned Island - Night

Mateo and Danny passed out on the shore. The light from the fire
in the sea creating a glow on the beach.

MATEO
(sit up)
(coughing)

DANNY
(Rolling over)
How did we? Are we on land?

MATEO
(Look around)
I guess we are. You remember what happened?

DANNY
No, is the land on fire?

MATEO
(Stretch neck looking around)
Doesn't look like it, but the colony is definitely gone.
(Nod to the flaming colony in the water)

DANNY
Well. looks like we’re not going anywhere.

MATEO
(nudge Danny’s leg)
First ones in 15 years to set foot on land that isn't burning
everything to death.

DANNY
(drop down to the ground)
I guess it's up to us to change it all.
