Please accept this letter and accompanying resume as application for the Clean Water
Now Program. I am interested in this program because it would provide great beneficial change
that we need in our planet. It would help me refine the management and organization abilities I
have been learning in school and outside of school.
My experience from my dad’s business, as well as from Durham Technical Community
College and Jordan High School, will aid me in being effective in this position. My experience
includes talking to my dad’s customers and helping with their questions and concerns. I book
appointments for my dad’s business to do the yard work and also but the necessary material the
customers want on their yard. I also go to customer’s location to get an estimate of the work that
needs to be done. This will help me manage the program well and keep myself busy with all the
details that goes through this project.
The strengths I have as an AP Environmental Science student in Jordan has helped me
understand why too much pollution can make biodiversity go low and possibly make some
animals extinct. Water pollution is such a big thing in our planet but not many people are
helping out to clean the water. With the water pollution rising we would not have clean water
available to drink and if we do it would greatly cost more because there would be so little of
clean water.
My learning experience in Durham Technical Community College in a public speaking
classroom has helped me improve my speaking skills in front of an audience. It has taught me to
not be nervous in front of such a big group of people. In this class we organized and presented
speeches to our class and we got feedback not just from our professor but from our fellow
classmates as well. This skill will help me in this program for when I talk to people and assemble
meetings on what our next step would be in this program.
