This lesson plan outlines a grade 8 mathematics lesson on triangles. The objectives are for students to be able to identify different types of triangles based on their angles, find the measure of missing angles in triangles, and actively participate. The lesson will begin with daily routines and a motivating activity to divide students into groups to identify shapes passed between members. Types of triangles will then be discussed according to their angles, including acute, right, obtuse, and equiangular triangles.

Date: June 8, 2018 I. Objectives At the end of the lesson students should be able to; Identify the different kinds of triangles according to its angle, Find the measure of the missing angle in a triangle and, Participate actively in the class. II. Subject Matter a. Topic: Triangles b. Subtopic: Kinds of Triangles according to its Angle c. Reference: Foundations and Applications Geometry III p. 35-39 d. Materials: Visual Aids, III. Lesson Proper o Preliminary Activities 1. Daily Routine Prayer Greetings Checking Attendance 2. Motivation The class will divided into two groups and teacher will give instructions to students in how to perform the activity. Mechanics of the game: First member of each group must go to the front to guess the figure that the teacher will give and they will write down the answer in a piece of paper. If the student know the answer he/she can write it but if not he/she can draw the figure and pass it to other member so they can guess the answer. Goal of the game is pass the piece of paper with answer to your other members until to the last member and if the last member receive the piece of paper he/she needs to shout “I got it”. The first group who finish it and with high number of points is the winner. Valuing: Observe teamwork, cooperation, speed, agility, balance and mental alertness in doing the activity. 3. Review Question: What are the kinda of triangles according to its sides? Answer: Isosceles, Scalene and Equilateral Triangles. B. Developmental of the Lesson Discuss what is Triangle and what are the different kinds of triangle according to its angle. Triangle – it is the union of three segments that intersect in pairs of their endpoints. Types of Triangles according to its Angle Acute Triangle – a triangle is acute if all its angles measures less than 90 degrees. Right Triangle – a triangle is right if one of its angle is measure exactly 90 degrees. Obtuse Triangle – a triangle is obtuse if one of its angle measures greater than 90 degrees. Equiangular Triangle – a triangle is equiangular if all of its angles are equal.
