1 General description and equipment

Design • Sophisticated, robust, modular design, based on more than 30 years of experi-
ence in manufacture and application world-wide.
• All welds are carried out by qualified welders with supervised welding procedures.
Welds certified to DIN 15018 and DIN 18800 Part 7. The company is certified to
DIN EN ISO 9001.
• Design according to the latest regulations, e.g. EC Machinery Directive, EN, DIN,
UVV, VDE, in particular to DIN 15018 and related standards and regulations.
• The cranes and components are designed for operation under normal operating
conditions. Refer to specific product description for classification and other fea-
tures. Please check whether the given lifting class and loading group is adequate
for the intended application. Other crane classifications (lifting class, loading group)
are possible. Tables 14 and 23 of DIN 15018-1 can be used to determine the
classification. Agreements concerning the classification of cranes and hoists are
only legally binding if we have received in writing all necessary data in advance
and confirmed the classification relating to these data in writing.
• The maximum permissible total hoist weights and lifting speeds must be consid-
ered.
• The nominal outreach is defined as dimension l from the rotation point centre to
the outermost load hook position. The dimension from the rotation point centre to
the tip of the jib is larger by dimension lan2.
• The slewing ranges are approximate reference values; they are partly dependent
on local site conditions; therefore, no stops to limit the slewing motion are included
in the standard scope of delivery for wall-mounted slewing cranes.
• Arrangement of slewing axis, mains connection switch, power supply line
Type D-AS:
In the plan view (view from the pillar centre), the slewing axis is in the direction of a
bore hole in the foot flange (3 o’clock position) and the mains connection switch is
arranged at 90° with reference to it (6 o’clock position).
Type D-GS, D-TS, D-MS, D-BOS:
Slewing axis in the pillar centre, mains connection switch in the direction of a bore
hole in the foot flange. Power supply: to the right of the jib (viewed from the rota-
tion point towards the tip of the jib).
• Crane stability to DIN 15019, foundations and anchor bolts to DIN 1045.
Max. foundation pressure 18 N/cm².
• Anchor bolt connections may be used in accordance with the relevant regulations
if appropriate concrete foundations are provided by the customer. Cranes suitable
for this fixation method are marked dia. VP.
• Cranes are intended for transporting loads, in particular unit loads. The transporta-
tion of persons, molten masses and other materials are subject to special agree-
ment.
• Cranes are suitable for vertical installation on vibration and oscillation-free founda-
tions.
• Jibs are generally provided with a positive camber.
• Refer to section 14 “Deflection” for information on the deformation characteristics
of crane supporting structures.
• Cranes are designed for indoor operation. Additional equipment for outdoor opera-
tion is available.
• The following temperature ranges apply:
Indoors from +/- 0° to + 40° C.
Outdoors from - 20° C to + 40° C,
other temperature ranges on request.

Electrical equipment • The standard scope of supply includes the power supply from the mains connec-
tion switch to the hoist with IP54 enclosure. Higher enclosure levels or explosion-
proof design on request
• Cranes are designed for three-phase 400 V ± 5% 50 Hz power supply. Other
power supply types on request
• Unless specifically confirmed otherwise, all cranes for operation with chain hoists
are provided with direct on-line control.
• Overload protection, which can be supplied at an extra price, is required where
there is a risk of overload.

Equipment/scope of supply • All steel components are Sa 2½ shot-blasted to DIN 55928.

• Paint finish: The outside surfaces of the pillar and jib are painted with a finish ap-
prox. 70µm thick, colour: chrome yellow, RAL 1007 or according to our quotation/
order confirmation. The hoist and trolley are supplied in azure blue, RAL 5009.
Bearing brackets, bearing pins, etc. as well as covers, e.g. for rollers, are supplied
in black to RAL 9005, regardless of the colour and finish. Functional surfaces,
such as bearing seats, etc., remain blank metal. Drives/gearboxes, switchgear
cabinets, etc. are supplied in the original manufacturer’s finish.
• A small container of paint is also supplied to repair any damage that might occur in
transit (only in Germany).
• The jib, pillar and accessories are disassembled for shipping.
• Standard packing comprises a robust cardboard box for the electrical compo-
nents and small parts as well as grease paper packing for blank metal parts, such
as bearing housings, etc. and wooden wedges for truck transport. Crane compo-
nents (pillar / bracket assembly and jib) are unpacked. Special packing can be
supplied on request, e.g. shrink-foil packing, special pallet packing, seaworthy
packing.
• Mounting bolts for wall-mounted jib cranes are not included in the standard scope
of delivery, but are available at extra cost.
• The scope of supply includes comprehensive documentation:
- instructions for preparing the foundations,
- illustrated assembly instructions,
- crane test and inspection booklet,
- EC manufacturer’s declaration,
- operating instructions,
- maintenance instructions,
- UVV accident prevention regulations §§ 29-43 (only in Germany),
- further documentation on request.

Top anchor connection The easy to install, inexpensive alternative to conventional anchor bolt arrangements
for pillar-mounted slewing jibs and cranes.

Benefits of the system • optimum method for later crane installation at different locations, since the con-
nection does not represent an obstacle after setting,
• can be walked and travelled on after the foundation has hardened,
• no tripping risk caused by protruding anchor bolts,
• no undergrouting required,
• crane can enter service immediately after installation,

Top anchor connection scope of • anchor rods with fitted threaded sleeves,
delivery • template,
• bolts and accessories,
• detailed documentation with installation instructions and description.

61
Compact anchor The alternative to conventional anchor bolt arrangements in foundations for
pillar-mounted slewing cranes
Offer outstanding advantages – no way to do it faster or easier.

Construction and planning phase • no costly anchor bolt retaining structure,

• no complicated alignment of anchor bolts,
• no mixture of accessories,
• important time saving during installation and alignment.

Scope of delivery Compact anchors adapted to the slewing crane with adjustable feet, level flange,
CNC drilled, HT nuts protected by plastic caps, HT bolts with accessories, protective
caps for the bore holes.

Installation • no tripping risks caused by protruding anchor rods,

• no obstacles to site traffic – flat surface (flange is flush with top edge of floor, can
be crossed by traffic),
• optimum method for later crane installation at different locations without any inter-
ference or obstacles.

Operation • position jib crane – bolt into place – put into operation – ready.
• no fitting problems since anchor and crane flanges are level and CNC drilled,
• high-tensile bolted connection using HT bolts. Crane can enter service immediately
as no embedding is required,
• perfect connection between foot flange and compact anchor – steel on steel – no
stresses occur during crane operation,
• in case of crane removal – no projecting anchorings, no tripping edges, flush with
the floor,
• important time and cost savings during installation and commissioning.

62 42634846.eps
Anchor bolt connection on Anchor bolt arrangements have been used successfully for decades for mounting
pillar-mounted slewing jibs and cranes of small and medium size. The system has
concrete floors been further developed and enhanced. It provides a complete solution with a wide
range of benefits:

Benefits of the system • no demolition of existing building floor, particularly significant in rented/leased buil-
dings,
• concrete filling, complicated anchor bolt re-arrangement and long concrete harde-
ning times are a thing of the past,
• no undergrouting required for level, horizontal floors,
• immediate commissioning of the crane after approx. 1 hour,
• use of dynamic anchor bolts approved by the construction supervising authority,
• round anchor plate with frame for specified support and perfect statics,
• increased safety owing to arrangement of the anchor bolts at an angle.

Benefits of round anchor plate • no tripping edges,

• more space and outreach owing to round and compact design,
• round plates are easier to transport, in particular at points which are difficult to ac-
cess by forklift trucks/cranes,
• optimum utilization of the slewing range owing to fine positioning (can be turned at
the inner and outer bore hole centres) for cranes with limited slewing range,
• Power supply line can always be installed through gap in frame, as it can be turned.

Attention!
The drilling axis determines
the jib turning point. 42635044.eps

Requirements • reinforced or non-reinforced normal concrete with min. strength class B25 and
max. strength class B55 according to DIN 1045,
• min. concrete thickness: 200 mm,
• for further details, see installation instructions or approval Z-21.3.1662 of the con-
struction supervisory authority.

14 Deflection

Special remarks on The values given in the tables are theoretical deflection values based on the rated
load, the rated outreach and nominal bottom edge of the jib. Appropriate mounting
deflection values and construction work are the basis for the calculation.
The theoretical deflection calculation is based on the pillar, jib and jib bracket. Howev-
er, the actual deflection is mainly influenced by other factors, such as correctly prepa-
red foundations, fit of the anchor bolts and correct undergrouting/embedding of the
crane. The top plate, roller box, pillar ring and pillar openings are not considered in
the theoretical deflection, either.
In practice this means that the measured deflection produces higher values than the
theoretically calculated results. The values measured in practice are usually 1,3 to 1,5
times higher than the theoretically calculated values and may even be 2 times higher if
the crane is poorly mounted. Please also take into account that enlarged lower flan-
ges will result in higher deflection figures.
Our slewing crane designs are suitable for all normal applications. More favourable
results can be achieved by selecting other components if you have special deflection
value requirements. Please contact our specialists for advice on these applications.
