Lesson Intro (What will you say to get the students’ attention, communicate the lesson objectives, and motivate students to achieve them?):
We are continuing our softball unit today. We are going to start off with a warm up in the hallway, then do a few exercises to get warmed up and practice
our throwing, catching, and fielding skills before we move onto hitting. Lets head out into the hallway. As we are walking there, find a partner.

Learning Objectives Assessment

Each objective should include: a) Performance (the knowledge or ability For each objective include your procedure for determining whether
the learner will gain as a result of this lesson), b) Conditions (under which the objectives have been met:
learner will perform, and c) Criterion (the level of performance considered
acceptable):
1. name & perform the throwing cues 1. informal observation & check for understanding
2. name & perform the catching cues 2. informal observation & check for understanding
3. name & perform the types of infield catches 3. informal observation & check for understanding
4. name & perform a correct outfield catch 4. informal observation & check for understanding
5. hold and swing a bat correctly off of a tee 5. informal observation
6. hold and swing a bat correctly as it is tossed 6. informal observation
Safety considerations and/or modifications for special needs students:
-students must be careful and very aware of their surroundings because we are working on hitting and swinging bats
-students should not be standing close to anyone at any point during this lesson
-students should also be aware when it comes to softballs being hit from every direction since there are hitting stations

Thank you for participating safely today. Next class we are going to go over the rules of softball. You will receive a study guide that lists them. After that,
