 4 types of real external failure cost
1. Coke blaK (Coca-cola)
The failure seems clear to the Coca-Cola company when they produce a product named
Coke BlaK. This soda flavoured coffee released in 2006 but immediately they stopped to
produce it in 2008 anymore, because the product got a lot of complaints from
consumers.
Consumers complains about the combination of bad taste and excessive caffeine in it.
The coca cola BlaK was sold at $1.49 for the 8 oz glass bottle in US.

3. Simplicity Cribs (baby stuff)
More than 400,000 Simplicity branded cribs were being recalled because of the death of
an 8-month-old baby. The reason is that some parts of the product produced in China
have a weakness in the material strength that is easily broken which is harmful to the
baby. This was not the first time, in September 2008 the company had attracted 600,000
units of the same product and in 2007 there were 1 million units.

4. Firestone Ford Tires
In 2000, Bridgestone / Firestone replaced 6.5 million tire sites after being released from
Ford Explorers and Mercury Mountaineers.
Ford Engineers have suggested security changes that other companies do not pay
attention to. The failure of tire products killed 200 people and seriously injured 3,000
people. For this, Bridgestone spends the US $ 440 million, while Ford's recall costs reach
US $ 3 billion. At that time, Ford was also fined US $ 600 million.
