a) Explain the meaning and importance of first aid.

b) Develop the sense of responsibility to help others through the knowledge and
application of first aid.
c) Infer value from the video clip.

Topic: The Basics of First Aid

Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, video clip, colored paper
References: P.E and Health Learner’s Module, YouTube

III. PROCEDURES
Daily Routine:

1) Opening Prayer
2) Reporting of Attendance, cleanliness of the classroom

IV. LESSON PROPER

A) Activity
“EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! WHAT WILL I DO?”
The class will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will pick a situation and do the
necessary, immediate and appropriate action. (2-3 minutes presentation)

B) Analysis

1. Who are the victims of accidents? Where do accidents happen? Why do they happen?
2. Are these situations preventable? How?
3. What will you do if these happen?
4. Why do we need to give immediate action to an emergency situation?

C) Abstraction

Definition of First Aid

Roles of First Aid
Objectives of First Aid
Characteristics of a Good First Aider
Principles of First aid

D) Application

Group Activity:
Think of a creative way of showing a good first aider helping in certain emergency
situations, at home, in school, on the road, at an office or park. You may write a poem, a song,
draw a cartoon, poster or a short skit.
