MATERIALS
Premier® Yarns Gelato (70% polyester, 30%polyamide; 85g/116 yds)
• 1021-05 Blackberry– 5 balls
Needle: US Size 10 (6 mm) 32” circular needle, set of dpns or size needed to obtain gauge
Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers

GAUGE
10 ½ sts x 28 rows = 4” in garter stitch
Save time, check your gauge.

BLANKET
Using larger needle, cast on 82 sts.
Work in garter stitch (knit every stitch) until piece meas 22” from cast on.

HOOD
Bind off 30 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows – 22 sts.
Next Row: S1, knit across.
Repeat this row until hood meas 6 inches.
Shape Hood:
Next Row: Sl1, k13, k2tog, k1, turn.
Next Row: Sl1, k7, k2tog, k1, turn.
Next Row: Sl1, k8, k2tog, k1, turn.
Next Row: Sl1, k9, k2tog, k1, turn.
Next Row: Sl1, k10, k2tog, k1, turn.
Next Row: Sl1, k11, k2tog, k1, turn.
Next Row: Sl1, k12, k2tog – 14 sts.
Do not turn.
Pick up and knit 21 sts along the left side edge of hood. Turn.
Next Row: Knit.
Pick up and purl 21 st along the right side edge of hood – 56 sts.
Work garter st for 4”.
Bind off.

EARS (Make 2)
Using dpns, cast on 6 sts, divide sts evenly, place marker and join being careful not to twist sts.
Next Rnd: K3, pm, k3.
Inc rnd: *K1, m1, knit to one st before marker, m1, k1, sl marker; rep from * once more – 10 sts.
Next Rnd: Purl.
Next Rnd: Knit.
Next Rnd: Purl.
Rep the last four rnds twice more – 18 sts.
Continue to work garter stitch in the round (knit one rnd, purl one rnd) until ear meas 7” from cast on,
ending with a purl round.
Next Rnd: *K1, ssk, k to 3 sts before the marker, k2tog, k1; rep from * to end. (14 sts)
Next Rnd: Purl.
Repeat the last two rounds once more – 10 sts.
Next Rnd: *Ssk, k1, k2tog; rep from * to end – 6 sts.
Cut yarn leaving long tail. Using tapestry needle, thread tail through remaining sts and draw closed.

FINISHING
Weave in ends. Sew sides of hood to top edge of Blanket. Sew ears onto hood using photo for placement.
