To whom it may concern,

I am currently in my final quarter of a Master of Education in Professional School

Counseling program at City University of Seattle, and eager to begin my career. I am
confident I have the skill set, professional and personal disposition needed to serve the
students, staff and community of your school.

While obtaining my education at City University, and following the model set forth by the
American School Counseling Association, I have established a strong conceptual
understanding and practical use of the program themes of advocacy, leadership,
systemic change and collaboration. Furthermore, I believe my education in data-driven
practices will enhance the mission of how to best serve students.

Most recently, I have worked as a special education paraprofessional and counseling

intern at Marshall Middle School in the Olympia School District. My experience at
Marshall has provided many opportunities for me to grow professionally, as well as
demonstrate my ability to excel as a school counselor. While working in a special needs
classroom, I have worked closely with a diverse and high needs population, which
required advocacy and high levels of collaboration and leadership. During my
internship, I made a significant impact on the school in a variety of meaningful ways. As
a priority, I focused on college and career readiness initiatives, which included leading
the College Bound Scholarship program, collaboration with the AVID program and
participating in 8th grade high school transitioning services with high school counselors.

I look forward to beginning my career as a school counselor. I love having the

opportunity to make an impact on a student’s life. I believe my authenticity in building
relationships with students and staff will be a valuable asset to any school community.

Regards,

Trevor Anderson
