school canteen in-cahrge and food handlers to be oriented on the dos and don’ts of food
handling. In addition, this activity will allow advisers to monitor the proper hygiene
practices of their orientation includes the participation of YECS student members as they
are the frontliners in serving their fellow students. The students that can greatly affect
their health status. That being said, absences due to sickness will be addressed through
this basic yet often disregarded practice. will be trained further in food keeping and
customer service.

Moreover, it has been determined that in the last school year, 35% of the students who
visited the school clinic complained about toothaches, fever, stomachaches, LBM,
common colds and cough. Thus, a weekly proper handwashing and toothbrushing to be
conducted throughout theb school year should be done regularly to help prevent such
cases. It is imperative that this activity gets the support of all the persons involved
because as simple as it is, improper handwashing and toothbrushing can certainly affect
the students performance.
In addition, it has been determined that majority of the food handlers are mothers who
work part-time to augment their family’s income. Thus, a product development activity
was included in this program to give the mothers more ideas on what foods to prepare
and serve as part of their product lineup without taking much of their time from their
household duties.

Methodology:

The ICT Coordinator in collaboration with the Schoool Clinic In-chargeTLE Coordinator
will prepare the necessary documents for the approval of this activity. Also, concerned
teachers and personnel will be tapped to facilitate the actual proper ahndwashing and
toothbrushing activities and prepare the necessary materials and equipment to conduct
the activityhandle the following topics: Food Safety and Guidelines, Food Hygiene,
Customer Service, etc.

Further, both male and female students will bring their own toothbrushes and personal
water containers. Materials such as soap, toothpaste and potable water will be provided
by the school through the MOOE/PTA funds.Further, both Solicitations will be made in
order to address any lacking materials such as toothbrushes to be donated to the
students.

Moreover, the Senior High School will conduct their weekly proper handwashing and
toothbrushing techniques during their most convenient time given the hecticness of their
schedule.
