What it is like to live in Macedonia

(my experience)
Living in Macedonia is totally fine. One of the most important things is that
people have freedom – something that our ancestry fought and died for. There
are no wars and blood.
Macedonia is a small country and it is not a big target for tourists, so there are
more Macedonians living in the country and the Macedonian language is
dominating. There is a night life in some of the smaller cities where all of us
know each other. People are free to go out late on Saturday nights even alone
because all of the people in a small town are familiar with each other and
there is not much danger. Food and clean water is available everywhere. We
usually eat our traditional food for our meals. Electricity and Internet are
accessible all around. Each child has the right to be educated and go to school.
But, education is going lower and lower. Students are forced to learn many
unnecessary details that they would not need in life and grades are sometimes
bought with money in public schools. You are not able to succeed in your
dream career even with a big effort and knowledge. I would also give a
comment about mostly Macedonians that are not patriots and do not respect
their own country – more like hating. That sounds sad, but also it is tragic.
There are problems with emigrations because of serious financial problems.
People are often in need of workers. Roads and sidewalks are destroyed and I
would rather not talk about the place on the sidewalks occupied by cars. There
are not many good conditions for running or cycling and the air is polluted,
especially in Skopje.
But, however I am proud to be Macedonian and I would help on every way I
can to improve my country, and accept the challenges and solve the issues
existing in Macedonia!
