“This I believe”

Making mistakes is okay, it is something that is completely normal and natural amongst

humans. This I believe. There is no reason to think so negatively about making mistakes as long

as you learn from what you did wrong. Mistakes are what make us human. They help us grow

and understand how to do things in new and different ways in order to overcome obstacles that

might be keeping us from reaching a certain goal.

Whenever I made mistakes in the past, I would be very hard on myself and would always

doubt myself when things got tough. Although I may still doubt myself at times, I have learned

to be more optimistic and have more faith that things will get better. This has been an important

change in my life because I now know that you can’t truly grow unless you make mistakes,

because all it does is helps us reflect and offers the opportunity of self improvement.

About a year ago, I had been going through a difficult time in my life and I had to make

many decisions in order to get back on the right track. The processes I have gone through up

until this point in the school year in order to get to where I am now was mainly having to look

back at my past mistakes in order to push myself and find the motivation to do better and not

make the same mistakes that I made last year. I had to really push myself to my limits this year

because I knew how important it was to improve my way of thinking and carrying out my

responsibilities. In the end, I was able to fix my mistakes and I am now in a much better spot
where I feel in control. Mistakes are important because they help us improve ourselves, and I am

one example of this. This I believe.
