The Demand for Maritime Personnel
The labour situation within the maritime sector is a topic that attracts much attention worldwide. Many fear we are entering a period where
a massive shortage of qualified personnel can, among other factors, represent a possible threat to both quality and safety standards. At the

The Kongsberg Maritime AS division of KONGSBERG fulfils the quality system of NEMKO and IQNet
(International Certification Network) and is certified according to the NS-EN ISO 9001:2000 and the
NEMKO 14001:2004.

All of our products, from desktop to full mission NEPTUNE cargo & ballast handling simulators, exceeds
the requirements of STCW 95 Sections A-1/12 and B-1/12 that define the performance standards for
simulator equipment to train maritime and offshore crews. NEPTUNE cargo handling simulators are certified and
approved by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Standard for Certification of Maritime Simulators No. 2.14 October
2007.
