Remember to be specific with your goals. A specific goal has a much greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal. To set a specific goal you must answer the six “W” questions:
*Who: Who is involved? *Which: Identify requirements and constraints.
*What: What do I want to accomplish? *Why: Specific reasons, purpose or benefits of *Where: Identify a location. accomplishing the goal. *When: Establish a time frame. EXAMPLE: A general goal would be, “Get in shape.” But a specific goal would say, “Join a health club and workout 3 days a week.”
1) My ACADEMIC goal is:
make my learning experience exciting. Three steps I will take to complete this goal are: a) Create games and challenges with assignments b) Research subject more in depth c) Ask questions to further comprehend the subject
2) My LEADERSHIP/SERVICE goal is:
volunteer during the summer. Three steps I will take to complete this goal are: a) Look for places to volunteer b) Volunteer weekly c) Find an opportunity to make a change
3) For next semester, my personal goal is:
prepare for APs without the course. Three steps I will take to complete this goal are: a) Ask Ms. Mercado for assignments to prepare for exam b) Read previous College Board exam response to better prepare c) Use Khan Academy to study for APs
