Silvana Martínez

Silvana Martínez holds a PhD in Social Sciences and a Master’s in Social Work from the National University of
Entre Ríos, Argentina. She has a degree in Social Work at the National University of Misiones, Argentina.

She currently works as professor-researcher in the National University of Misiones, Argentina, where she is
Professor of the Master in Social Policy at the National University of Misiones and the National University of
Mar del Plata, Argentina.

Since 2010 year she is President of the Argentine Federation of Professional Associations of Social Services.
Since 2012 year she is member of Women National Council of Argentina. Since 2014 year she is Regional
President of Latin American and Caribbean of International Federation of Social Workers and she integrates the
Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme.

In recent years, Silvana Martínez has given numerous international conferences in countries such as Argentina,
Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and Cuba, on issues of social work, professional
organizations, gender, social inequalities, politics, ideology, social order and social violences.

Moreover, she is the author and co-author of scientific papers in journals of Social Sciences and Social Work.
Her fields of research and professional practice are: gender, power relations, social violence, human rights and
social work.
