General Info
WORK SERVICE

• All students perform 3 hours of work service weekly. Your work

service will be scheduled around your class schedule.
• Most first-year students will work in the cafeteria or in
housekeeping.
• Information and link to application will be sent to your LSMSA
email address.
• Please complete the form and submit it.
• If you have any health conditions that prevent you from completing
a particular assignment, please indicate on your application.
• You will receive your assignment when school begins in August.
CLUBS @ LSMSA

• We have approximately 50 clubs and student organizations.

• Students can start new clubs if they have an interest that is not met
through our already existing clubs.
• We hold a club fair near the start of the school year to allow
students to sign-up for clubs.
COMMUNITY SERVICE

• If you have already been working to earn the state’s community

service degree endorsement, please submit all documentation to
Ms. Jenny Schmitt by the start of the school year.
• Opportunities to be involved in community service while at LSMSA
will be sent to students throughout the school year via email and in
the nightly announcements.

• Jenny Schmitt can be contacted with questions regarding clubs or

community service. Note: Jenny does not work in July! Email her at
jschmitt@lsmsa.edu.
PERMISSIONS

• Must get parental permission for riding, driving, sports participation

and trips.
• Parents complete online permission form in myLSMSA and then
can call us to update permissions.
• Special permissions required for special dance nights. More info will
be provided at the time.
WHAT’S NEXT?
SUMMER READING

• You’ll receive an email when the updated student handbook is

available for you to read online. You and your parent must sign that
you’ve both read it before you move into the residence hall in
August.
• Handbook form will be due by August 1st.
ONLINE ORIENTATION

• You’ll receive an email about your online orientation class, which will
be completed in Moodle.
• Watch for the email at the start of July. Completion will be expected
by start of the school year.
MOVE-IN INFORMATION

• Students will move-in for the fall semester on Saturday, August

17th.
• Information about check-in is included in the Eagle Guidebook
including:
– A list of things to bring
– Your assigned check-in time
– And further instructions about check-in day
• The Eagle Guidebook will be posted in Resources in myLSMSA.
MISSING FORMS AND FEES

• Forms are due by 6/17.

• Handbook form will be due on August 1st.

Class Schedules

• You will receive your class schedule when you arrive in August.
• You’ll meet with your advisor again on Monday, August 19th and
work on making schedule changes.
• Classes will begin on Tuesday.
