This document provides instructions for starting a main air compressor. It lists steps to check for leaks, lubricant levels, and that shut-off valves are open prior to starting. It also describes starting the compressor and checking for proper direction of rotation, unloader operation, lubricant pressure and sight glass, and abnormal sounds or leaks during operation. Operators are to ensure automatic controls like pressure and temperature switches work properly.

CHECK WHETHER WATER, OIL OR AIR IS LEAKING FROM THIS
COMPRESSOR. CHECK LOOSE OR MISSING NUTS AND BOLTS. CHECK THE LUB OIL LEVEL AND ADD IF NECESSARY. CHECK THE COOLING WATER SYSTEM. CHECK THE COMPRESSED AIR PIPE SYSTEM. MAKE SURE SHUT OFF VALVE FOR EACH AIR RESERVOIR AND COMPRESSED AIR LINE IS OPEN.
OPERATION:
START THE COMPRESSOR AND CHECK THE DIRECTTION OF ROTATION.
CHECK THE OPERATION OF AUTO UNLOADER. CHECK THE OIL PRESSURE (BETWEEN 0.35Mpa to 0.45Mpa) MAKE SURE THAT DROPS OF LUB OIL ARE SEEN IN THE OIL SIGHT GLASS. CHECK FOR ABNORMAL SOUNDS / VIBRATION / HEAT, AND AIR, WATER OR OIL LEAK. MAKE SURE THE AUTO CONTROL UNIT (LO PRESSURE SWITH, AIR TEMPERATURE SWITCH, AUTO START STOP PRESSURE SWITCH, ETC) OPERATE PROPERLY
