Refer to activity 14 on page 20 and ask SS to work with the drawings they made the class
before.
Model the text in the speech bubble and have SS repeat. Explain that they are going to talk
about their pictures using the sentence frame: I see (two) (sisters) and (a) (mother). Model
responses and have students repeat.
Walk around the room. Check to make sure that students identify family members
correctly.
Exercise 15

Read, explain and model the directions. Give SS paper, scissors, markers, etc. and have
them make and wear their name tags. Help them with spelling

Ask SS to use their tags for the next activity (the tags were kept the class before)
Use them to play a game. ON the back of each name tag, have students write a clue about
themselves. Encourage them to use unit vocabulary.
Collect the name tags and have SS guess the name of their classmate based on the clues.
Exercise 18
Divide the class in half. Read the directions aloud and tell SS that they are going to make a
chart like the one in Activity 18 and count the names in their half of the class. Allow SS to
work independently.

Read the directions aloud.Play Audio Track A 30 and have SS listen, point to the picture
and say the word.
Display the letter card b and the corresponding Sounds and Letters Picture Cards. Have SS
look at the cards and chant with you: buh baby, buh books, buh box, buh ball.
Repeat the procedure for the letter p.
Exercise 20
Read the directions aloud. Play Audio Track A 31 and have SS write the letter b or p to
complete each word.
Review answers as a class.

Read the speech bubbles aloud and role-play picking some papers off the floor.
Have SS repeat both sentences after you.
Read the directions aloud. Play Audio Track A 33. Have SS listen, point to the characters
and read the text.
Replay the audio, and complete item 1 with SS by circling brother. Have SS complete item
2 independently.
Check to see that SS have answered correctly.

Have SS Role-play the first dialogue with a partner. Have SS switch parts. Continue the
activity in the same manner for the second conversation
