8th Annual Drag Show
MAY OVERVIEW
We have reached the end of a very
busy and exciting month! It started
off with Pride Week with events
hosted by the Queer Student Union
and the Student Center for Diversity
& Inclusion, including the 8th Annual
Drag Show and The Ball. We had the
opportunity to celebrate the
accomplishments of our student
leaders and organizations at the
Student Life Impact Awards.
Congratulations to all of the
nominees and recipients! USGA
partnered with DBAC and other
orgs to host a Diversity & Inclusion
Town Hall with the Dean of Students.
The Recognition Process continued
with four BOLD Conferences this
month, which saw over 1,065 officers
in attendance. Shoutout to the
Muslim Student Association for being
the first org to complete the process!
The month concluded with the
Chabad Student Group hosting their
Shabbat Dinner that had over 200
guests in attendance. Good luck as
you finish the term and we wish you
all a wonderful summer quarter!
RECOGNITION
DEADLINE JUNE 7TH!
The deadline for the
2019-2020 Recognition
Process for
undergrad/joint
organizations on the
fiscal-year cycle is Friday,
June 7th (deadline for
grad orgs is June 15th).
Check the “Additional
Information” section of
your org’s DragonLink
page to ensure everyone
has completed all of the
required steps in order to
be active for next
academic year!

FISDU’s “Lola Coco’s Barrio” Event

ORG OF THE MONTH
Filipino Intercultural Society of Drexel
University (FISDU)

FISDU represents Filipino culture

throughout the Drexel Community.
They ended April with their annual
Barrio event. This year’s theme was
“Coco.” FISDU didn’t stop there, in
May they held a Trivia Night, Family
Field Day, and Lip Sync Battle. Learn

CE SPOTLIGHT DID YOU KNOW?

Ariel Basch is the Assistant Director of
Student Involvement & Leadership. She
advises the Graduate Student Association
and organizes programming for Campus
Engagement, including the 5K and
Involvement Fairs. Ariel was named after The
Little Mermaid!
Your organization is able to
request office or locker space
on either the University City or
Center City campus. Keep an
eye out near the end of June
for the request form for the
2019-2020 academic year!
