The figure below shows a 66-kV 5-bus system which can represent a power system network. The
parameters of this system are given in Table I & II. Assuming a 100MVA base. The active power output
for bus 4 and 5 is 500kW each.

1. Create MATPOWER data file. Attach the result and data file

2. Carryout system optimization to ascertain the best location for a second generator with voltage
set at 1.01pu and active power of 18500kW.
(i)Consider the objective function voltage profile which is defined as

𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑚𝑖𝑧𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑉𝑝 = √(∆𝑉12 + ∆𝑉22 + ⋯ ∆𝑉𝑖2 ),

𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 ∆𝑉𝑖 = (𝑉𝑖 − 1)

(ii) Constraints to be considered


- Maximum voltage limits(1.05 pu) and minimum voltage limit (0.95pu)
