STAAD PRO CONNECT EDITION HAND BOOK:

Steps to create new project:


1. Open the New STAAd.pro CE by double click (left click on mouse).
2. Go to New
3. Give the file name and choose the location where you want to save the
file.
4. Then select the create button.

Now you are seeing the welcome screen of the STAAD.pro Connect Edition,
Workflows:
1. Geometry creation
2. Creating Properties and assigning to the members
3. Creating supports
4. Creating Loadings and definitions
5. Conveying STAAD to run the analysis
6. Designing Concrete or Steel
7. Generating Reports

1. Geometry Creation you have some types like


a. Snap/Node method
b. Copy paste method
c. Repeat method (Translational repeat)
d. Command file (STAAD Editor)
e. Co ordination method

Node to Node Distance:
1. Go to Utilities
2. Select Node Tools
3. Then Node to node distance
4. For deactivate it back select remove node to node distance.

In Geometry -> On right side dialog box select define tool to create cross section.
Use easy way to select your Beams like
1. Go to Select from the Ribbon and Take Parallel X & Z axis from the Beam
palette.

After creating Beam & Column, Should assign those properties to available
member on screen.

For this, You have following methods of assigning.


1. Assign to selected beams
2. Use cursor to assign
3. List
4. Assign to view
When we want to Switch on the Labels for Beam, No and so.
Go to View and open labels setting or do right click then select lables.
Shortcuts for node = Shift+N
For Beam= Shift+B
Then we should create supports as foundation.
Choose supports and select Create to pick suitable supports
As mention in below picture, Choose fixed support which has 6 degree of
freedom locked.
Now Generate load case from Ribbon as below:
1. Choose Load case details
2. Click ADD
3. Select load type as Dead, Live
4. Then select the load cases and hit add
5. Now give value from the load list.
After the analysis, Go to post processing mode to view the result of BM, SF and
deflection finally displacement.
