Weebly for education

Explanation:
The collaborative affordances of the resource enables students to ‘collaborate,
share and exchange’ which is a capability of ‘Communicating with ICT’
(ACARA, n.d.-a)
Critical assessment:
The resource can be used to facilitate social interactions within and beyond the
classroom to allow student to collaborate, share and exchange their ideas. To
ensure student privacy, Weebly for education allows teachers have full control
over student activity; teachers can decide which websites are public or private to
ensure students’ privacy is maintained (Weebly, n.d.). The platform has so much
potential and could be used to design authentic tasks. These affordances strongly
align with John Dewey’s social activism theory, a social constructivist approach
to learning (Roblyer & Doering, 2014).
