Dear students,
As a new academic year begins, all of us at Université

de Nantes are pleased to welcome students already
accepted and especially those who have just received 
their high school diploma. Every year, there are
more than 38,000 students preparing one of our 330
degrees within one of our 21 components. Around
4,000 international students, representing a wide
range of countries, will be joining us this year and we
are pleased and proud to count them as part of the  13 GETTING STARTED
University. Pursuing a degree, whether in a university program, a technical
or vocational field, always requires a strong personal investment. Whatever
your goal may be, all of us at Université de Nantes are committed to helping
you carry it out in the best conditions. In implementing your project and
in building your future, you also have the opportunity to get involved on
campus. Yet again, we are devoted to supporting your initiatives and to

gement. You can participate in this collective effort
with simple and common sense eco-friendly actions.
Energy Saving Actions:
• Switch off your lap-top and its screen after using it
in the computer rooms of the university
• Mark the websites you visit frequently as favorite
(this divides up to 4 times the emission of green-
house gases)
• Always turn off the light when you leave a room, no

cially during winter time
