Mentor Duties:

 Provides leadership for secondary school curriculum, instruction, and


assessment.
 Communicates the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the elementary
school program to the students, parents, staff members, and to the
community at large.
 Provides leadership to meet and exceed state instruction standards,
proficiency targets, and school improvement goals.
 Evaluates and reviews the performance of staff assigned to the school.
 Creates and maintains a safe environment for all students and staff.
 Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of the School.

School Environment:
Oakland Christian School offers a rigorous and unique education
experience to all its preschool through 12th grade students. From a Spanish
immersion program and advanced classes for high school students, there
are plenty of options in and out of the classroom, which features small class
sizes and a Christian-based curriculum. Located in Auburn Hills, Oakland
Christian School provides a solid academic foundation starting in preschool,
and by kindergarten, families can choose an English track or Spanish
immersion program.
OCS offers a private, co-educational program for students in preschool
through 12th grade. The Little Lancer’s University Preschool program offers
a 3’s, 4’s, Begindergarten and Jr. Kindergarten. The kindergarten program
consists of half-day and all day options. The high school program is
predominately college preparatory with a vocational technology component
available through Oakland Technology Center. The college preparatory
math program includes Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus.
The college prep science program includes Conceptual Physics, Biology I &
II, Chemistry and Physics. Advance Placement courses are offered through
the Michigan Virtual School and a guest student program is available through
Oakland Community College and Oakland University for high school
students. OCS offers full and half day kindergarten classes (with a full time
teacher aid) that are limited to 16 students per teacher. There are two
classrooms each for grades 1-5 with a maximum enrollment of 25 students
and one teacher per classroom. Grades 6-12 enrollment is limited to 60
students. Tuition covers 90% of our operating expenses. School fundraisers
and gifts from private individuals, businesses and churches supply funds for
scholarships, enhancements, building maintenance and emergency funds.
