You are the books you read, the films you watch, the people you meet, the
dreams you have, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from
these. You are the sound of the ocean, the breathe of fresh air, the brightest light
and darkest corner [place]. You are a collective of every experience you have
had in your life. You are every single day. So drown [immerse] yourself in a sea
of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins [attitudes]

You can't connect the dots [points] looking forward [ahead]; you can only

you have to trust [have faith in] that the dots will somehow [in some way]

The most important thing I think teachers can do for young people is to make
them inquiring, is to ensure that they know how to gather information, that
they check [examine] information and they take their information from a
multiplicity of sources. [Leadership & 100 and 5 Stars].

4 Quotes, by Maxime Lagacé
a) Now be silent. Let the One who creates the words speak. He made the
door. He made the lock. He also made the key.
b) Stay in the spiritual fire.
c) This is how it always is when I finish a poem. A great silence overcomes
me and I wonder why I ever thought to use language.
d) Don’t wait any longer. Dive [Go underwater] in the ocean, leave and let
the sea be you.

The gateways [entries] to wisdom and learning are always open, and more and

Teachers started recognizing me and praising me for being smart in science and
that made me want to be even smarter in science!.
Steve Wozniak
The job of the teacher is to inspire, to challenge, to excite their students to want
to learn. Yes, they also do explain and demonstrate and show things, but
fundamentally that is beside the point. The most important thing a teacher is
make every student feel like they are important, to make them feel accountable
for doing the work of learning.
Derek Alexander Muller
Treat people as if they were what they ought to be, and you help them to become

“Science is a social institution.” With this sentence Richard Lewontin began his
1990 CBC Massey Lectures [Discourses]. He went on [continued] to try and
demonstrate the integration of science with the existing social structure. That’s
been his view [understanding] throughout his career, and it’s a view that he
thinks has won wide acceptance during that time. He points, for example to the
way the history of science is now generally told.
David Cayley
So you would very much agree with the people in science studies who have
been saying, during the last couple [pair] of generations, that we need to
recognize science as a social institution.
David Cayley
The history of science is a history of the social structures of science and what
surrounds them. Absolutely.
Richard Lewontin
You do not know what you will find, you may set out [start] to find one thing
and end up [result in] by discovering something entirely different.
Sir Alexander Fleming
[Edison] definitely ended the distinction between the theoretical man of science

Psychology
- Some Precise Concepts
1. Autonomy -
2. Aversive -
3. Back translation -
n. A back translation is a translation, back [in return] into [to] the original, of
a text that had been previously translated into [towards] a language other
than the original by translators independently of those who translated
[converted] the original. Comparison of the back translation with the original
version is informative regarding the degree of equivalence between texts in
two languages. Back translation is sometimes used as a technique in
discourse analysis, particularly in research on cross-cultural differences in
discourse. It is also used as a technique to validate or improve upon [on] an
existing translation. - [100 and 5 Stars, and, now, a case of language and
linguistics].
4. Balanced bilingual -
5. Behavior -
n. [a] All the activities that living organisms exhibit. [b] Some research
strategies limit the definition of behavior to those fitting [suitable,
appropriate] a priori categories which may be more or less well defined.

I think the story of research development is well described by the ditty [poem]:
Little drops of water,
Little grains of sand,
Make the mighty ocean
And the pleasant [enjoyable] land.
Anyone familiar with scientific literature realizes [understands] the enormous
number of contributions, most of them small and not very significant, but each
and all gradually raising the level of understanding in the storehouse of
knowledge until finally the stage is reached at which a great scientific discovery
or a mighty [enormous] practical application can be made.
Compton, Karl Taylor
Science and literature are not two things, but two sides of one thing.

The public printed [published] record of the results of scholarly [academic]
research is the universal device that transcends the barriers of space and time
between scholars [professors]. It makes the most recent advances of human
knowledge accessible to students and scholars throughout the world. Wherever
[Where] there is a library, any person who has learned the language may
participate in the outstanding [excellent] intellectual adventures of his time. The
same record extends into the past; through an unbroken sequence of
communications, the scholars of today can trace the origin of a new concept in
different periods and in different countries.
By standing on the shoulders of a giant, he may see farther [distant]. The wide
availability of the record [register] is one of the guarantees of its soundness
[completeness]. In science especially, truth is held [occupied] to reside in
findings that can be experimentally verified anywhere, at any time.

John Maynard Keynes
John Maynard Keynes was born in Britain in 1889 and died in 1946. He has often
been called the greatest economist of the twentieth century. He worked both as
a scholar [professor] and in the public sector as an advisor [consultant]. Keynes
criticized the economic impact of the peace treaties that followed World War I.
His best known book is The General Theory of Employment, Interest and
Money, which appeared in 1936. Among other things, the book highlighted the
importance of vigorous state intervention in the economy to avert [stop]
economic crises and promote full employment. Keynes played an important
role in the establishment of the International Monetary Fund [Reserve] and the
World Bank. …, he taught [instructed] primarily at Cambridge University and
was known for his one-liners [anecdotes]. On the phrase „in the long run“, a
common phrase in economics, he said: „In the long run we are all dead“.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in 1756 and died in 1791, only thirty-five
years of age. In his brief lifetime he composed over 600 works and he is
considered one of the foremost [principal] composers of all time. Mozart was a
Wunderkind [Genius] and had begun composing music at the early age of five.
He worked in the service of emperors [heads of state] and noblemen and for a
time accumulated some wealth [prosperity], but he never achieved a state of
financial security for a variety of reasons, including an expensive [high-priced]
lifestyle and gambling [risking] debts. Mozart was a colorful personality of
chaotic character. His musical creations range [oscillate] from cantatas to operas
and chamber [compartment] music to symphonies including the Austrian
national anthem. A great deal has been written about Mozart, and his life and
work has been the subject of books and films, but his image has been created
and recreated so many times since his death that these are not always
historically accurate [precise] sources of information.

Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso was born in Spain in 1881 and died in 1973. He was a painter of
great natural talent and he is widely [extensively] considered the greatest
painter of the 20th century. He was also a sculptor and he tried his hand at a
number of arts with much success. Among his legacies [heritages] is the
development of cubism along with [together with] his good friend Georges
Braque. Picasso lived for a long time in Paris, having severed [disconnected] his
relations with his home country in the Franco era. Among world famous
paintings by Picasso are Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, preserved in the Museum
of Modern Art (MoMa) in New York, and Guernica, painted in memory of the
air raids [attacks] on the town [city] of Guernica in the Spanish Civil War. The
painting is preserved in the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid. Picasso’s versatility
was unique, and the American painter, Jason Pollock said of him: „That guy
[man] missed [fail to see] nothing.“

In comparison with the United States and Western Europe, there are countries
and regions with a shorter entrepreneurial tradition and a less developed
entrepreneurship-oriented culture, such as China, India and Eastern Europe,
where in many cases entrepreneurship has so far [to date] only played a minor
[unimportant] role, if any, at universities and colleges.
A major issue for many low-income countries and regions (especially peripheral
regions) is the drain [channel] of highly qualified graduates to high-income
countries or more central regions. Teaching entrepreneurship in higher
education institutions may help to raise the awareness [consciousness] among
students and graduates that there are attractive entrepreneurial opportunities
that offer incentive to stay in the country or region affected by the brain
[intelligence] drain [channel], or even to create jobs through enterprise
formation.

Three Books
That Explore the Human Brain.
STEVE EMBER: And I’m Steve Ember with EXPLORATIONS in VOA Special
English.
Today we discuss three books that tell about ways the human brain works. One
book considers the power of the brain in controlling why some people care
about how someone else feels and why others do not. Another book describes
how the limitations of the brain can affect our lives. The third book is about how
the brain develops in a baby.
STEVE EMBER: Professor Baron-Cohen and his research team developed a way
to measure individual differences in empathy. They found that most people
have average levels of empathy, but some people have extremely low or high
levels.

Mormon Doctrine
There Is a God
• What are some things that testify to you that there is a God?
Alma, a Book of Mormon prophet, wrote, “All things denote there is a God; yea
[certainly], even the earth, and all things that are upon [on] the face of it, yea,
and its motion [movement], yea, and also all the planets which move in their
regular form do witness [observe] that there is a Supreme Creator” (Alma
30:44). We can look up at the sky at night and have an idea of what Alma meant.
There are millions of stars and planets, all in perfect order. They did not get
there by chance [fortuitous]. We can see the work of God in the heavens and on
the earth. The many beautiful plants, the many kinds of animals, the mountains,
the rivers, the clouds that bring us rain and snow—all these testify to us that
there is a God.
The prophets have taught us that God is the Almighty Ruler of the universe.
God dwells [resides] in heaven (see D&C 20:17). Through His Son, Jesus Christ,
He created the heavens and the earth and all things that are in them (see 3 Nephi
9:15; Moses 2:1).
He made the moon, the stars, and the sun. He organized this world and gave it
form, motion, and life. He filled the air and the water with living things. He
covered the hills and plains with all kinds of animal life. He gave us day and
night, summer and winter, seedtime [time of planting] and harvest. He made
man in His own image to be a ruler over His other creations (see Genesis 1:26–
27).
God is the Supreme and Absolute Being in whom we believe and whom we
worship [revere]. He is “the Great Parent of the universe,” and He “looks upon
the whole of the human family with a fatherly [paternal] care and paternal
regard [concern]” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith [2007],
39).

Catechism [Religious education]
In Brief
"Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture make up a single sacred deposit of the
Word of God" in which, as in a mirror [looking glass], the pilgrim [traveler]
Church contemplates God, the source of all her riches [treasures].
"The Church, in her doctrine, life and worship [reverence], perpetuates and
transmits to every generation all that she herself is, all that she believes".
Thanks to its supernatural sense of faith, the People of God as a whole never
ceases to welcome, to penetrate more deeply and to live more fully from the gift
of divine Revelation.
The task of interpreting the Word of God authentically has been entrusted
[assigned] solely [exclusively] to the Magisterium of the Church, that is, to the
Pope [Bishop of Rome] and to the bishops [ministers] in communion with him.

The Bible.
16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste [acceleration] to shed [scale] blood.
17 But a net [network] is spread [distributed] in vain [hopeless] before the eyes
of them that have wings.
18 And they themselves lie in wait for their own blood, and practice [apply]
deceits [deceptions] against their own souls.
19 So the ways of every covetous [desirous] man destroy the souls of the
possessors.
20 Wisdom preacheth [discourses] abroad, she uttereth [utters] her voice in the
streets:
21 At the head of multitudes she crieth out [exclaims], in the entrance of the
gates of the city she uttereth [utters] her words, saying:
22 O children, how long will you love childishness [irresponsibility], and fools
covet [want] those things which are hurtful to themselves, and the unwise hate
knowledge?
24 Because I called, and you refused: I stretched out [extended] my hand, and
there was none that regarded [observed].
25 You have despised [hated] all my counsel [direction], and have neglected my
reprehensions.
26 I also will laugh in your destruction, and will mock [pretend] when that shall
come to you which you feared.
27 When sudden calamity shall fall on you, and destruction, as a tempest, shall
be at hand: when tribulation and distress shall come upon you:
28 Then shall they call upon me, and I will not hear: they shall rise in the
morning, and shall not find me:
29 Because they have hated instruction, and received not the fear of the Lord,
31 Therefore [Consequently] they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and shall
be filled with their own devices [schemes].
32 The turning away of little ones shall kill them, and the prosperity of fools
shall destroy them.
33 But he that shall hear me, shall rest without terror, and shall enjoy
abundance, without fear of evils [tribulations].

25 The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;
26 it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
Lamentations 3:25-26

A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake
again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid
the mistake altogether [completely].

Lazos Increíbles.
«Aves». With Glory and with Power, Your Glory will observe us.
«I formulated a project for the CBTIS (Technological Industrial and of Services Center of
Bachelor Degree) 107 of Tuxtepec, Oaxaca, México consisting in giving to the Library of this
Institution with five volumes of English language, of my authorship. A book for each semester,
from the first English book to fifth English book (according to the plan of studies in this regard
of the CBTIS). At no cost to the Institution, because this is a donation (in the staff, I solve my
expenses of the project with income of my employment as a professor that I would be in this
CBTIS).
One of the major advantages of this project is to solve the need of the student of
spending in books of English language because the books will be at your complete disposal into
the student community in the Library of the institution.
Afterward, in an immediate subsequent phase of this project is that among the student
community of this CBTIS and all the CBTIS of the United Mexican States will have these 5
volumes of English language by means of a page of Google; read it, neither cost nor restriction
to obtain them.
Well, as a last note, I must say that these books will have the format of 'workbook'.
This, as an intelligent work with foundations and then their respective exercises to resolve, into
a concurrent process». M.C. Enrique Ruiz Díaz.
