Personal Statement
As a jack of all trades, master of none, I love experiencing new activities and events that challenge
myself and others physically, mentally, and spiritually. I love helping others learn new skills and
discover more about themselves while doing so. I believe that the positive connections we make with
others are what cause the greatest impact in their lives and our own.

Experience
LEAD LIFEGUARD/WATERFRONT DIRECTOR, CAMP AO-WA-KIYA _ 2013- AUGUST 2015
I have volunteered at Ao-Wa-Kiya for 5 years officially and 10 more years unofficially. The directors
offered me the opportunity to become a certified lifeguard and to over-see the waterfront as the lead
lifeguard and waterfront director during youth camps and rental weeks.
JANITORIAL/ FACILITIES MAINTENANCE, CAMP AO-WA-KIYA _ FALL/WINTER/SPRING OF 2014/2015
Ao-wa-kiya is a year round retreat facility which I cleaned throughout the year. Motel rooms,
bathrooms, kitchen facility, gymnasium floors and sidewalks were all required to be cleaned weekly
throughout the seasons.
LIFEGUARD/ SWIM INSTRUCTOR, DAVID D. YOUNG YMCA_ AUGUST 2015- MAY 2017
I was hired on to the DDY YMCA aquatic staff in August of 2015. I began lifeguarding immediately
and began training to become a swim instructor. Completing the swim instructor training I taught
various levels of swim lessons to youth.
SCHEPERS’ LAWN SPRINKLING_ MAY 2017- NOVEMBER 2017, MAY 2018- SEPTEMBER 2018
I worked the summer of 2017 and 2018 as a general laborer installing new sprinkler systems. Once
classes started back up in the fall I would clean up the shop as a part time employer. I was to gas up
the machines and trucks, I was also responsible to lock up the building when all other employers were
done for the day.
YMCA GREATER GRAND RAPIDS- FIELDWORK INTERN_ WINTER SEMESTER 2018-2019
As part of my degree program, I chose Kara Mockler, certified dietician as my fieldwork supervisor.
For 90 hours throughout the 12 week semester I observed Kara with nutrition clients and small group
cooking classes as well as the wide variety of group fitness classes that are available at the YMCA of
Grand Rapids locations.

OOMKES LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT_ DECEMBER 2018- MARCH 2019


For the 2018-2019 winter season I was in charge of clearing high end residential driveways in the East
Grand Rapids area. Driving various tractors and snowblower attachments I completed routes during
the night and early mornings.
BLUE STAR HIGHWAY COMMUNITY GYM- SUMMER INTERN_ MAY 2019- PRESENT
To complete my Exercise Science Internship I sought out a position at Blue Star Highway Community
Gym in Saugatuck, Michigan. As part of the desk/ floor crew I am responsible for membership
processing, cleaning bathrooms and gym equipment, answering questions from members and
prospective members, washing facility towels, as well as getting experience with management and
class instructor roles.
