CREATINE

This molecule is produced in the body and also exists as creatine phosphate. Creatine is found in
meat, eggs and fish.

FUNCTIONS OF CREATINE:

 It has neuroprotective and cardio protective benefits.

 Creatine improves power output.
 Athletes supplement creatine to increase high intensity exercise capacity and lean body mass.
 Its main action is storing high energy phosphate groups. During stress periods, these
phosphate groups release energy to aid cellular function. This leads to an increase in strength
after supplementation.

DOSAGE:

Creatine monohydrate can be supplemented through a loading protocol.

To start loading, take 0.3g/kg bodyweight for 5-7 days, then follow with a minimum daily 0.03g/kg
dose either for three weeks (if cycling) or indefinitely without requiring another load.

Creatine can be called as vitamin-like because of its mechanisms in the body.

FAQ-

Is creatine a steroid?

The scientific definition of a steroid is something that is anabolic in nature, ie) tissue building.
Creatine does not facilitate the same. Creatine also does not resemble the molecular structure of a
typical steroid. Hence, creatine is in no aspect, a steroid.
