Planning a Book Trailer

The audience for my book trailer is a second grade class.

Learner Analysis:
a. Age/Gender: 7-8 years of age
b. Cultural Background: All students speak English as their primary language.
Ethnic backgrounds include: Hispanic, African American, and Caucasian
c. Educational Level: Second grade
d. Special Needs/Accommodations: No special needs or accommodations.
e. Specific Entry Skills: Basic listening and reading comprehension skills.
f. Motivation – Keller’s ARCS Model (Describe how you will integrate each component
into your book trailer to get your audience’s attention.)
· Attention – I plan to gain my students attention by showing enthusiasm and
incorporating good music examples.
· Relevance – The information in the book will be relevant to what students have
learned in the classroom.
· Confidence – Students will know what to look for before watching the trailer.
· Satisfaction – Students will experience satisfaction when they embrace the process of
learning about the book chosen.
