Holy Week
The Cadejo

When the loneliness and the hobby distress the heart of some grieving soul who tries to forget his
pain with alcohol, then the suitable companion appears who does not separate from him until he
manages to alleviate his pain and grief with a sudden death.

This protective spirit, better known as the cadejo, is presented as "a black dog with a goat's coat,
eyes and breath of fire". The character that pursues and protects bowling (drunk, drunk). The gray
cadejo cares for children alone and the white cadejo is the protector of lonely, abandoned and
widowed women.

It is said that this malignant being accompanies "bowling", but if he comes to lick their mouths, he
follows them for nine days and does not leave them alone until they die. Then he takes his soul.

Every time you see a black dog behind a man do not get confused, it could be the cadejo. . .

Personal Commentary: This is one I saw with my own eyes, (I allow myself to say that I am very
superstitious), one night with a friend we left a party with a few drinks inside and we started to
follow a black puppy, the funny thing was that advanced to the corners to see if there was
someone and we waited until we passed and ran to wait for you at the next corner, when I came
to my house to look for some food and did not see it again, by chance? ...

The Descarnada

She is a beautiful girl, sculptural body, long hair, incandescent eyes, dresses in white. Appears at
night and in the early morning in the western part of the country, she asks motorists to hitchhike
when they pass by tight curves, men see her unparalleled beauty, they climb her vehicles, she asks
them to take her to a secluded place and alone; enthusiastic men agree very happy, the young
woman takes off her clothes and immediately afterwards she begins to remove pieces of meat,
that is, she dies in front of the unwary that seduces, until becoming something monstrously
macabre, that produces terror.

Men panic, leave them speechless, produce high fevers and some go crazy. Their favorite victims
are taxi drivers, trailers, truck drivers and night owls in general.
The Zumbadora O Chinchintora

There is in the mountains of my country a snake called chinchintora or buzzer, its name derives
from the buzz that it produces when it attacks or defends itself by throwing blows like a

whip. The peasants of my country, who know the courage of the chinchintora, discovered that the
exhaustion, product of the fight or perhaps the fury, makes it throw a blue stone. If he defeats his
opponent, he swallows the stone again and leaves. But the great discovery that the peasants made
about the buzzer or chinchintora is that being beaten as an equal in the fight, leaves the stone and
leaves it to the winner. The possessor of the stone becomes invincible.

Personal Commentary: My father used to tell me stories about a friend of his youth who claimed
he owned the buzzing stone, my father said that the guy was a good guy (drunk, drunk) and always
got into trouble but the National Guard was going to look for him after every lawsuit against him
and they could never take him prisoner, he said that they could not take him or beat him because
he had that stone in his possession.
