Report on 1 week industrial orientation

Acknowledgement
Firstly, we would like to thank Korea Nepal Institute of Technology and specially thank to
Head of department(HOD) of Automobile Department Mr. Bikram Baidhwar for managing
industrial visit of one week at Metro Auto World Ghorahi dang.

We would also like to thank Mr. Dipenddra Sherestha was the execuative director of
Metro Autoworld , Mr. Jyoti Oli (Sells Manager) and Mr.Manoj Sheretha (Service Manager)
for providing us opportunity to work in their organization.

We would also thank to heavy vehicle head mechanic of metro autoworld Mr. Jabed
Qurashi and also thank to Mr. Vijay Chaurashiya who is the head mechanic of light vehicle.
Profile of industry

Introduction of Metro Auto World


Metro Auto World limited lies in Ghorahi-15, dang. It providing good services, sells and
spare parts of Mahindra vehicle and Royal Enfield Bikes in Dang district as well as in
Rapti zone. Metro Auto was established in 2064 B.S. and founder of this firm this is Mr.
Dipendra shrestha, who is Managing Director of Metro Auto World. This firm is running
frequently till today. This showroom consists of different section including Sales office and
Service office of Mahindra vehicle and Royal Enfield of Dugars brothers and sons.

There are more than 10 staffs are working there. This limited provides its services from 9:00
AM to 6:00 PM. Metro Auto World providing good facility for the customer using new
technology and equipment. Most selling product of Metro Auto World are Truxo 31, Load
King, Maximo, Royal Enfield classic 350. More than 60 Truxo 31 truck they sell till 2075.

 The vision of metro auto world is to provide service sells and service of the Mahindra
Vehicle and Royal Enfield bike of Dugars Brothers and sons limited.
 Their another vision to make better relationship with customer for rise their market.

 They are going to established good network at Rapti Zone with Dugar Brothers and
sons limited.
 They are going to improve their services by using the latest technology and
equipment.
 They wants to stock large amount of spare at future.

Objectives of industrial visit

 Be familiar with industry set up and equipment lay out.

 Understand technological aspects and production techniques.

 Know the essential managerial aspects.

 Established a good report between industry and institution.


Rules and regulations:

 Reach the workshop in time.

 Must wear apron, shoes, and other safety devices according to their job requirement
such as Glasses, Mask ,Hand shield, etc.

 Maintain Discipline.

 Be out of stress and tension.

 Handle tools properly.

 Keep the tools in proper place.

 Focus on jobs.

 Listen to instructors.

 Lubrication oil, fuel are stored approximate place to prevent the fire hazard and
maintain cleanness.
Day 1

It was the first day of the industrial orientation at Metro Auto World which is located at
Ghorahi Dang. We reached their at 9:00 am on 23 Poush, we went straight to the reception
and ask weather the M.D is over their or not? With the receptionist. Yes, he over here she
replied and we merged towards the room of M.D and gave the letter given by the collage, he
read the letter and we introduced ourselves to him and he gave some information about the
showroom and introduced us with the staff member. After the introduction at sells office, the
receptionist took us to the workshop and introduced us with the service manager. The service
manager introduced us with the mechanics and informed the rules and regulation of
workshop. He also taught us the way of doing work , we changed the dress and wear safety
devices and we get an our job.

We dissemble the 2 no. cylinder piston and liner of Mahindra M-power Truxo 7.2 L
under the instruction of head mechanic, that engine was suffered from heating problem due to
the leakage of coolant through the 2 no. cylinder liner O ring because Mahindra made the
engine liner of wet type so, that they gives two rubber O ring as a gasket. At time of
dissemble that engine cylinder we leaned the process of drain out engine oil and coolant
from engine block and oil pan, removing exhaust and intake manifold and also removing
cylinder liner in systematic way by using the proper tools and equipment. We went for
breakfast at 2:00PM to 2:25.

After that we dissembled the propeller shaft, center bearing rubber, bracket of another
Mahindra Truxo 7.2L , for checking the alignment of propeller shaft head mechanic send it
to the mechanical workshop and they found that propeller shaft was bend and we changed
that shaft. Head mechanics fixed the other problem of propeller shaft and tell us to assemble
the propeller shaft and we assemble it. Due to which, we learned process of assembling and
dissembling of propeller shaft and also learn the process of dissembling of engine . After that,
the office time was over and we changing the dress ,then we departed at 5:00 pm .

Day 2

On the 2nd day of our industrial orientation at Metro Auto World ,we enter the
sells office at 9:00am and took the attendance .we observe the vehicle which was inside the
showroom after that we entered the workshop at 10:00am and changed the dress. We were
under the incharge of head mechanics, we helped them for fitted the engine of 2 number
cylinder liner, piston, piston ring, liner O-ring, etc. which was dissembled an day 1st and fill
up new engine oil ,coolant and also changed thermostat valve and also maintain the tappet
setting. At the time Engine cylinder liner fitting we learned the process of fitting piston no.2
but at time of fitting engine linear mechanical worker was came and they also check the
clearance between main bearring cap and crank shaft . After fitting that engine we went for
breakfast at 2:00PM to 2:00PM.

We also got the knowledge about the process of servicing the maximo supro, changing
break lining, ling rod, etc. and service manager taught us the way of diagnosis the vehicle
with the help of Garuda scanner which can only scans the Mahindra vehicle. As the rule of
that workshop time was over and we changed the dress and departed at 5:00pm.
Day 3

On the 3rd day of industrial orientation we reach the 9:00 AM. We read the different catalog
of Tata vehicle and Royal Enfield. After this we merged towards workshop at 10:00 AM and
changed the dress. Under the Instructor of head mechanic we did hub greasing, servicing and
changed the break lining by which we learn the process of hub greasing, serving and brake
lining changing. As the rule of office our time had over and we went towards our house
05:00pm.
Day 4

On the 4th day of industrial orientation we reached the head office at 09:00am and
read the different catalogue of Mahendra vehicle. At 10:00am we went to workshop and
changed the dress under the instruction of head mechanic and we disassembled the propeller
shaft and gearbox for changing the clutch plate and pressure plate by the help of hydraulic
jack, by which we learned the process of changing the clutch plate, pressure plate and also
learned the process of assembled gear box and propeller shaft of Mahendra M-power 7.2L
Truxo 31.

After sometime another Truxo 31 arrived in the workshop, in which learned the
adjustment of braking. After that the office time was over and after changing dress we
departed at 05:00pm.
Day 5

On the 5th day of industrial orientation we reached their at 09:00am, we read different
automobile magazine for 0ne hour.

After this we went to workshop and changed the dress under the instruction of head
mechanic, we did servicing, washing, changing brake lining and also changing the hub
bearing of Maximo supro that’s why we learned the process of servicing, washing, changing
a hub bearing and brake shoes.

After some time we did full servicing of Mahendra load king under the instruction of head
mechanic. As the rule of workshop time was over at 05:00pm so we changed the dress and
we went toward our house.
Day 6

On the 6th day of our industrial orientation , It came to know that we have to go to another
garage. It was the garage of heavy vehicle head mechanic, for observing the local garage
environment . We reached there at 9:00AM and changed the clutch plate of Eicher bus.

After some time we changed brake lining pro mini truck 1112 under the instruction of head
mechanic. After some time, Eicher pro 6031 arrived which was affecting from heating
problem. While diagnosis the head mechanics fund that there was a leakage in compressor
gasket and we changed the gasket under the instruction of head mechanic. So we learned the
process of changing compressor gasket . We left garage at 5:00PM as per rule of that garage
.
Day 7

On the 7th day of industrial orientation we went their at 09:00am and changed the dress, after
sometime Eicher Pro 6031 arrived which was affecting from heating problem in engine and
due to less amount of coolant and we poured coolant into the radiator and the problem was
solved. After sometime Eicher pro 1112 arrived to the workshop which was affecting from
heating problem, due to leakage in compressor gasket. So we help in changing the gasket by
the head mechanic.

We observed different garage inside the auto village. We left garage at 5:00PM as per
the Rule of Garage.

Feedback

For workshop

 There should be well educated mechanic in automobile field .

 There should be advanced and latest tool and equipment t of today vehicles.

 There should be well discipline mechanic when dealing with customer.

 The worker should follow the rules which are made by company.

 There should be washing area of heavy vehicle.


Conclusion

 We are able to learn some repairing and maintenance procedure of Mahindra and
Eicher heavy and light vehicle .

 We know about some problem which are occurred in the vehicle .

 We learn the working procedure and management procedure of showroom.

 We learn how to diagnosis the Mahindra vehicle by using Garuda scanner.

 Mainly we learn the servicing procedure .
