VVA Scholarships Presented Prior to Meeting— Geoffrey Paulline, Son of Greg & Terri Paulline,
attending University of Iowa; Kennedy Baker, Granddaughter of Arlen & Caroline Beck, attending
University of Northern Iowa; Jenna Clark, Granddaughter of Ed Gaudet, attending Brigham
Young University; John Clark, Grandson of Ed Gaudet, attending Brighan Young University; Pay-
ton Walker, Granddaughter of Ron & Jan Sebastian, attending University of Iowa; Not present -
Madelyn Busch, Granddaughter of Tom Torrey, attending Belmont University in Nashville, TN
Call to Order – Meeting called to order at 7pm by President Ed Gaudet. Officers present are Vice
President Bruce Cheek, treasurer Harold Hansen and Secretary Ed/Chris Grillot. Pledge of Alle-
giance said and moment of silence for POW/MIA and those still serving in harm’s way across the
globe.
Secretary Report – Motion made by Larry Witt, seconded by Bruce Cheek to accept minutes as
published in newsletter. Carried
Treasurer Report – Balances given.
Finance Report – Greg Paulline passed around sign-up sheets for clover sales May 28-30.
State President Report – Next state meeting is June 8. Announced Jr ROTC scholarship recipient
Anastasia Nguyen. Ed Gaudet reported receiving funds from other VVA chapters to help pay for
Greg Paulline expenses to the National VVA conference.
Correspondence – Thank you received from Dr. Angel for donation. May Veterans Car Club of the
Quad Cities canceled May cruise in due to bad weather. August cruise in will be dedicated to VVA
776.
Members in Distress - None known.
Membership – Membership combined total of VVA and AVVA is 228 members.
Honor Guard – The honor guard will be attending Memorial Day ceremony at All Vet Memorial.
They will present colors at baseball game for military June 6 at Modern Woodman Baseball Park.
Honor Flight – The first honor flight for this year is May 30.
Birdies for Charity – John Lavelle reminded members to consider donating to Birdies for Chari-
ties, earmarking VVA 776 to receive funds.
Elections – Ron Sebastian conducted swearing in of new officers and directors. Officers are Presi-
dent Steve Satre, Vice-President John Lavelle, Treasurer Harold Hansen and Secretary, Ed/Chris
Grillot. Directors are Ernest Ledjte, Bill Mathews, Larry Witt, Greg Paulline and Lyle Peterson.
