School Entry Plan (The first 60/90 days)

Set up meetings:

1. Meet with the administers (people who hired me) to know their expectation for me. Also get

knowledge about the former principal (why the former principal left), the school I’m going to

work, the teachers and the community.

2. Meet with former principal (if the principal was not fired) to get knowledge about teachers,

students and parents.

3. Might meet with PTA president or through phone call to make early connection with PTA.

Do research:

1. Review students data to look for areas needs to improve.

2. Review prior year evaluation for every teachers.

3. Review curriculum for each subjects.

4. Review rules/ regulations/ code of conduct, etc from the district.

Hiring:

1. If I know I need to hire a teacher and a para when I got the job, I would look for candidates as

soon as possible and review their resumes.

2. Review/ talk about when meet with administers about the district hiring process.

3. Make phone calls to candidates.

4. Look for teacher volunteers during interviews.

5. Try to hire the new teacher and para before the new semester.

Other things to do:

1. Plan the first staff meeting/ training/ PD very carefully to let the teachers know my vision and get

to know them as well. Team building is very important for me and I think the first meeting is very

important to build my team.

2. Set up an open house (like coffee with principal) and invite members from the community to let

them know me and get connection with them.

3. Send all teachers an email to let them know me. As the first 60 days of my new work is during

summer vacation, I would not meet with teachers unless they want to. And during the first month

of the new semester, I will set up time to meet with learning consultant, social workers and

teacher leaders first.
